It's hard for anyone to go back to the beginning or parts of the story, with Destiny being a live game service everyone is being pulled and tugged along at the same time. If a player were to revisit past content, that content is removed as per the case with vaulting. Imagine if Bungie did this with the Halo franchise and no one was ever able to revisit and play Halo 2. We were forced to play only Halo 3. I took a break from Destiny 2, quite a long break and coming back to it, I missed so many seasons. Trying to revisit and play those events I am already strapped with a timer, fighting off RNG and trying to get many things done before the content is gone for good. I'm also a collector and completionist, with content disappearing, it's quite disappointing. What's the point of collecting if the content is disappearing. I understand chasing power and light levels, but for the Guardians who are tending towards fashion shouldn't be limited or cut from accessing the content of the past. See that nice looking aesthetic armor, well it's gone. It was exclusive. Imagine if Dark Souls were a live service and cut content pieces, that's what I'm getting at, fans would be pissed. I wish Bungie were to keep main story missions that would be vaulted restricted to single-player and fire team only to retain its campaign, such large story elements are going to be lost in the void. It's like watching a serial tv series where the current episode is where it is at if you wanted to catch up from episode 1 or revisit a past episode to go back on, you can't. Instead of playing the campaign missions I end up watching them on youtube or someone else's channel than playing them myself which isn't fun or immersive. I can imagine the new Guardians playing Destiny after Beyond Light and getting invested only to not revisit old content and just watching the Destiny the video game the movie on Youtube. See that cutscene, well you can't watch it conveniently or go back to it like in Monster Hunter World and watch it with different armor pieces you have on. It's a one done deal, skip it and you skip out on it forever. That's a cool cutscene that Bungie team made, and it's gone. Let me watch it on poorly compressed video on youtube.
