Remember! It was Activision that was holding the game back. In reality it was the only thing holding it up.

3 RepliesWho would've thought that THREE studios worth of content wouldn't be possible by ONE studio. C'mon, y'all can't be this dense to not understand why Forsaken 2.0 won't be a thing...
-
3 RepliesI think to some people this means that Beyond Light will be small. Guys this is like saying humanity will never find a mountain bigger than Everest. Of course we won’t. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t other huge mountains left to explore (BL), even though they aren’t as big as Everest (Forsaken)
-
2 RepliesI'm not a Luke Smith fan but I will say this: at least he was upfront about the size of future "content" as to forestall players expectations of them. Although, given their love for the copy and paste function, idk what people were really expecting to begin with. My issue isn't so much the size of the content, but how fresh and innovative it is. Although as far as size goes, what I care about are campaigns( the main part of any expansion) that are more than 6 missions long that take roughly 20mins per mission to complete. I care about my main character talking and interacting more than that pesky ghost that we always have to defend for 10mins while he opens a door or reads an ancient letter. I care about the patrol zones and strikes actually being fun and dynamic rather than just mind numbing busy work for a bounty.

3 RepliesWait didn't he also say that the Stranger will have no further part in Destiny? Also the next expansion is a year away so do even Bungie know how big it will be? Things change. Do you even know how big Beyond Light's map is other than a pic of it we have no true scale.... and what if it is multi leveled in areas like the moon is you see one map per level not the whole thing. Luke Smith WILL lie to hide secrets from us to surprise us later down the line instead of a "no comment" answer and let all the two bit You Tubers and Streamers do conspiracy theories. So will we get a Forsaken size expansion.... no one knows.

This is Destiny 3 stripped down to 3 DLC’s so of course it’s gonna be small as they are by there own now and are concentrating on Matter now so Destiny 2 is kinda getting drip fed until that comes out and it will go the Destiny 1 route.
-
Just wait until they announce that Microsoft has purchased Bungie.....
-
Doesn't really matter as long as what we get is good.
-
1 ReplyI don't need size, I need quality of Forsaken.
-
2 RepliesSeems odd that they could create a forsaken sized expansion in addition to the two smaller expansions within the same year but now it's too much....
-
I'm pretty casual and find enough to play during a season. However, most of my time is spent skulking around the crucible. But after the announcement that you can get powerful rewards just from playing endless crucible i'm pretty happy. There's a nice balance now between playing d2 and other games and not really having any fomo or need to chase. Although fomo and chase is what made D1 so great.

2 RepliesHonestly, im just glad forsaken happened
-
I mean... it sucks but its understandable.
-
I happy with that we got Stasis subclasses New quest New Exotic gears Raid Strike 2 destinations Lot more People need to stop moaning Can’t wait next week
-
The statement itself is not too good to hear, but I mean he talked about the size of the content. We get a whole new subclass, it's a think I was waiting for that we didn't get in forsaken. That's a good thing. We only get one new destination but Europa looks pretty good I'm really looking forward to it.
-
Good to know I'm never missing anything worthwhile.

1 Replythey had vicarious visions and activision It's just bungie now one studio can't make that stuff on a yearly basis and I'm fine with that as long as it's not CoO size
-
Honestly, fine by me. Forsaken was huge. I don't need something that big every single year to keep me satisfied. Something smaller, alongside the unvaulting of content and seasonal additions, will be all it takes to keep the game fresh, and as long as it's fun I couldn't care less.
-
4 RepliesHe was just being real, they don’t have two additional studios helping them out this go around. So I paid like $60 for Shadowkeep, and expect to get at least 60 good hours out of it. Probably ended up getting 10 times that. We get a LOT for our money with Destiny. When the content dries up, no need to complain, we get a brand new expansion every single year! Just pick up another game until the next expansion. Think about a great game like Skyrim, we will have to wait like 15 years until the next installment. Bungee delivers every year. Maybe they can’t make a new forsaken every year, but they do a great job.
-
3 RepliesIts not due to seasonal content. Its due them not having the money or the manpower. Because for forsaken it was...bungie...activision and vicarious visions.
-
With Bungie being independant and losing out on the two studios helping them, it makes perfect sense to me. It'd be strange to expect the same or more content output with much less resources.
-
Disappointing, for sure. I'd like Bungie to try a different approach; big annual chunk of content, one smaller little DLC in between. I feel a bi-annual content schedule would work a little better, also dialling back on the notion that they need to keep us playing 24/7... And that comes from someone who has played the shit out of, and will probably continue to play the shit out of the Destiny franchise. I enjoy it, but I still need a break sometimes. The delay to this season provided some downtime, which has been nice.
-
I think if the content is unique I’m good. It already looks big and it’s supposed to be bigger then shadowkeep and shadowkeep had a lot it just wasn’t good. So since it’s slightly bigger and it looks unique and new that’s good 👍
-
Not really...Forsaken was huge because it was trying to fix vanilla D2. Rise of Iron in D1 was smaller than Taken King and fun as well. So....yeah more of Destiny in smaller package. I learnt to diversify games so plenty of content.

1 ReplyEdited by DuBChiri2: 11/1/2020 8:06:53 PMLet me reword this so it isn't a mess to read: I would much rather they develop and release content every 6 months so that when it comes time to really start playing the game again there's more to sink our teeth into. I absolutely do not like how our current seasonal content is pretty much just a time waster with story to make what would normally be incredibly boring, interesting. This would also give them more time to let people recharge their interest in the game because it's not demanding your constant attention to grind levels to do content within a 3 month window or to acquire gear the way you want it to be in that time. They did say seasonal content is now going to last a full year and that helps...but that only fixes one out of the many problems the seasonal model created. However, I full understand that people would likely have little to nothing to do after awhile and the gap between content would be greater...but it beats playing for longer periods for less actual content. My friend made a pretty simple but understandable statement about games in general: "I would much rather play an 8 hour game that's fantastic than a 24+ hour game that just drags on." Me personally, I'm a fan of rpgs so I don't mind the length of the game but consistent quality is something not many can nail and it ultimately plays into how destiny is. It's great for like the first week or so...but then it just drags on.
