If you going the “independent studio” way means you’re going to cut out tons of content and nerf literally everything including bright dust, then Bungie made a terrible decision and it’s showing very clearly.
Beyond Light could’ve been twice as large as Forsaken with Activision’s monetary support as well as High Moon Studios and Vicarious Visions helping Bungie make the content. No vendor refreshes, sunsetting, needless yet never ending nerfs, zero communication with the community, reusing old content as “new”, etc.
it should actually be named Beyond Pathetic if you ask me.
Not only that! But it’s clearly been more evident that ever since Bungie left Activision, they have been less and less active on the Forums. They simply don’t care anymore and are ignoring the entire player base. We get to suffer from their poor decisions.
I have never seen a company so willingly dive head first down the route of Anti-Consumerism.
I hope you’re proud Bungie.

6 RepliesEdited by Seth, Knower of Things: 10/31/2020 6:48:36 AMBL was never gonna be close to twice the size of forsaken. They said post forsaken that it was too taxing on the dev team, and that was with the help of 2 other studios. So no, nothing was/is ever going forsaken sized again. Lol this forum isn’t the entire playerbase. I doubt 1% of the actual playerbase use this forum. Hell when’s the last post you saw to get 1000 likes? That’s only .1% and I haven’t seen that in a year+ They get a lot more valid feedback (and thusly give us a lot more responses) on Twitter. Feel free to read through dmg’s tweets if you don’t believe me. If you don’t like the look of it. Don’t buy it. No one is forcing you to and plenty of us are excited for it. This forum represents one of the worst parts of the community, and the only players who won’t admit that, are this forums users.

10 RepliesYou mentioned sunsetting ..... you do realise that if Activison were still involved then this expansion would have been Destiny 3 and you'd have lost absolutely everything?

yikes

1 ReplyActivision jumped off a sinking ship. Bungie didn't leave them. They left Bungie.

I guess Bungie will begin to suffer, because they blatantly refuse to solve the problem/s they should have solved. Like in this article: https://www.vice.com/en_ca/article/g5xkgw/why-destiny-2-isnt-working-and-how-to-fix-it

2 RepliesBungie's struggles with independent competency start to make a lot more sense when it's realized that the split wasn't mutual. Bungie were kicked to the curb and totally unprepared to develop and maintain Destiny on their own.

Who's suffering exactly?

2 RepliesThe smartest thing bungie could do is just partner with microsoft again. Get the financing and talented people that can make this a great game again. Bungie could have free reign, but they would have the backing to deliver some massive content.
