I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really want to tell my old Halo buddies that Destiny 2 is a FUN game where you can hop into, play a few campaigns, some nice strikes, crucible, gambit. Some adventures, lost sectors and a public event. Maybe even a raid if you have a good power level?
But NO! I have to tell them you have to GRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNDDDDDDDDDD several MONTHS unfun activities to have enough materials so you can masterwork a full set for ONE character, so you can compete! Not even 3 characters, which was the original plan for Destiny back in 2014. I've given up on that already years ago.
Please, every Bungie employee, go to a tattoo removal shop and remove the word GRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNDDDDDDDDDD from your forehead and let them tattoo FUN instead. So every time you look in the mirror, you are reminded what video games are about. Or at least should be about: FUN.
This is a lot better:
100 legendary shards for a prism
10 legendary shards for a enhancement core
200 bright dust reward for weekly bounties
So that also solo new light players stand a chance. You don't have to worry about Rick Kackis, Datto or Mtashed with these changes. You have to worry about kids who also have to go to school. Students who also have to study. People who work who also want to spent time with their kids and spouse.
Or there is something I'm missing, Bungie? Instead of 3-4 legendary shards per dismantled legendary item we now get 30? Enhancent cores, prisms and shards will now drop left and right in strikes, gambit, crucible? If that's the case you can disregard my post.

1 ReplyEven gladd laughed about this cost. He is as hardcore as it gets and agreed it made no sense. For one, hardcore players are going to have all the prisms they need. Why would they need to spend 400 shards? Why does it hurt anyone if you have stacks of unspent shards? For newer and casual players it's way too expensive they won't spend shards on these. Bungie needs to make this more reasonable.
-
8 RepliesLmao. I literally just made a post about how I lost a stack of golf balls and 10/15 shards due to the postmaster filling up with blues. It wasn’t until the double nightfall drops I even had enough to master work ANY exotic. They realized the system sucked and needed to implement the better drops for a while. Looks like the system maybe worse somehow?! More cost to mw?

Or, or, OR, here's an Idea: Do the -blam!-ing Pit of Heresy for 6 guaranteed prisms from a masterwork dismantle. 1 run on each character, means 18 in total.

6 RepliesEdited by RPColten: 11/1/2020 2:28:07 PMPlease point to a single person in the world who masterworked an armour piece by only buying cores from spider, then prisms and shards from Banshee. I honestly would be shocked to hear about even a single person who only obtained their materials from Spider and Banshee. This is exactly the kind of manipulated data feedback that is toxic of the worst quality, because it manipulates the situation to make things seem worse than they are despite the OP likely knowing damn well that what they stated is not in fact the status quo. It's completely disingenuous.

Farm Lake of Shadows or the Arms dealer nightfall. The two easiest nightfall's in D2. Find a fireteam on D2LFG on discord. I work a management position, and i am also teacher at a university, so I don't always farm nightfall's but whe those two pop up i farm them for as long as I can. Those nightfall's can be ran in 15-20 min with a good fireteam without mics.

I completely agree. In addition to lowering the costs, Bungie should also return the items associated with upgraded an item when it is dismantled. Given there are not going to be any reductions or decreases on the cost of infusion or masterworking with sunsetting, a change should be implemented to return the amount of resources (e.g., upgrade modules, ascendant shards, prisms, etc.) used to upgrade or infuse a weapon or armor piece. There is absolutely no reason those should just be 'lost' or 'dissolved' considering the time and costs expended to upgrade them on each occasion.

This game has always been about materials and stock piling them up. Once you have a base line, I just play the game. I don't MW everything I get but just the best stuff. I have more things in my vault that will give me cores/prisms/a-shards then I'll actually use. All because I got to a level, maintained that level and just played the game. It's rather quite easy and I don't have a ton of materials either, maybe 500 cores, 2500 L-shards, around 3k each in planetary materials.

2 RepliesKeep running on the hamster! We own you! - Bungie
-
Easy as just playing the game
-
Oh boo hoo. Just do the endgame content. Some missions give multiple cores, prisms, and other such things per completion. Don't like the prices? Dont buy them then. Earn them from the missions that drop them. Simple as that.
-
2 RepliesYou could spend 2 hours and masterwork a full set without rng playing a roll in it. The spider serves to just give you quick material. You’re not meant to use the spider as your main source for mats.
-
2 RepliesYou could also play activities that drop them.
-
For starters, you're not forced to buy anything from spider. It's meant to be an extra shard sink, for people who have a ton and want something to spend them on. Quit your -blam!-.

Edited by SSK0T: 11/1/2020 4:40:54 PMThis is really just another way to make the game more accessible to new players (30 each is cheaper if you buy a few as they pointed out in the TWAB). Their choices are all about attracting new players. Adding new players is the path to more cosmetic sales and revenue. This makes sense. Most of us existing players who are watching our stockpiles of tokes, shards, old weapons with good rolls, etc. lose value are addicts who will keep playing no matter what they do.

Agreed on subject matter by the way. I'm half excepting banshee's core bounties to get nerfed too so the last sensible quick daily farmable source for cores is gone. Like before I could get 2 cores daily from spider for a reasonable price of 30 shards that didn't demolish my shard bank since I'm not someone who grinds shardy activities day in day out. Next expansion I have to pay 60 shards for 2 cores. Right now I can get 3 for 70. "Cheaper overall." I dont know what they're smoking. Must be premium. Only thing I know I didn't have 310 shards per day to use. And I won't have 150 shard per day either. And now I can't even afford the couple shards per day. Guess I'm not in the target audience.

Downvoted for shooting yourself in the foot and than blaming bungie for it.
-
Lucky for me I have been grinding out the masterwork core bounties and the pit. I have about 105 prisms, 840 shards, and capped out gold balls. But what sucks is, as soon as I masterwork one exotic price of armor, I’ll be out a significant fraction of all that. The problem isn’t getting the material, it’s exotic armor that costs more than it should.
-
6 RepliesEeeeehm...you are wrong. Its like 30 shards to masterwork an exotic. Also...you dont need to masterwork armor to compete.

2 RepliesEntitled crybaby, get over yourself.

I enjoyed this post. Captures the gestalt.

2 Replies28,000 shards and spider wont be seeing any of them im not falling for this bungie il just stick to not master working armour from now on

Edited by El Mebaj: 11/1/2020 2:53:17 PMGo into the game like this, like Bungie does: Just don't give a single -blam!-. Don't care about masterworking, grinding the power level, bright dust, etc., just play casually. That way there is a way to enjoy this game. But if you take it even a little bit seriously? Nah. Go F2P, and play casually. The way they are handling this makes me think that this is a sinking ship. Treat it like one. The most you should spend on this game is the 1$ Xbox Game Pass, if you own it on Xbox/PC (It's coming later for PC AFAIK.)

2 RepliesWhat are you whittering on about lol

1 ReplyIt was not 10, it was 10, then 20, then 40, then 80.
