Remember the wild days? The crazy crew who worked on Halo and early D1? Those guys were awesome. They had such a good and cool vibe to them. I was a HUGE Bungie fan at one point. They were my favorite game company for a while.
Bungie now just... sucks. The decisions feel like their being made by a child. Everything is all about making everything as grindy and monotonous as possible. There's barely any good loot. I don't ever see Bungie conversing with their playerbase. It's like, I honestly feel like the new Bungie is entirely made of new people who run the company like a business and have no idea what video games even are. Like, yeah they know how to make money off of it, but I just feel a distinct lack of heart that made Bungie Bungie. I wouldn't even be surprised if they trashed Ling-Ling or have no idea that the name "Bungie" was "the punchline to a dirty joke."

Yet the decisions that the Bungie now is making does seem to be focused on business. Although, they do put a lot of effort into whatever they make.
I feel like that tone has shifted Look at their "to do list" and now look at them now. The Bungie that wanted world domination is no more Right now Bungie desperately needs to get in touch with their fans and understand how they think. They need to be more relatable and funny, not blank and dul

Edited by shell: 10/30/2020 6:58:17 PMAre you trying to say early D1 wasn't grindy? I enjoyed it at the time, but really, the gameplay loop was just repeating the two raids and nightfall every reset. I don't have the time for grindy games anymore, but in my brief experience with D2, it seems to be in a much better place with the massive variety in quests and player-driven goals.

I agreed with everything except the point about loot, this season he loot has been amazing. And beyond light looks nice too. I do miss old bungie though, I still love d2 so much, but they're nothing compared to what they were.

Bungie made shooter games. They are trying to write the rule book for a new kind of game. Not everyone is going to like that kind of game. But the industry as a whole is watching what Bungie is doing, and doing their best to try to copy what works from it. https://blog.bioware.com/2020/10/28/anthem-update-javelin-gameplay-builds/ Remember. You're here complaining about a game that is about to go into its FOURTH year, in franchise that is about to go into its SEVENTH. Bungie has done a lot wrong. But they have also done a lot RIGHT. With that Game-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named.

What was the joke for the “Bungie” punchline? Also, you’re assessment is quite accurate. Bungie has gone the way of corporate greed.

Lots of "miss the old X" when talking about game studios unfortunately. Almost feels like that development's the default course that comes with success.
