It really is odd. We haven’t seen him in promotional material, nor is he mentioned as a VIP in the Rimed Shell. We only have a name, even though we don’t know which is which. He’s gotta be kinda mysterious for a reason, right?

Theory, the raid starts off with us chasing this unknown lieutenant into and through the Deep Stone Crypt, similar to Garden of Salvation with the Consecrated Mind, just with a bit more story to explain it. Say this lieutenant is more focused on the D.S.C while the others are busy with the Pyramid. It might be that they are trying to get an exo body for themselves. After a few encounters we defeat them, and then come upon the Vex gate which we go through, finding Clovis Bray waiting for us for the final fight.
