RTX 3080 Crashing

Howdy, I have an EVGA 3080 FTW3, and a 9900KF, both with mild OC. I had a 1080TI before this, and had fine performance, but now since I've upgraded GPUs the game will now randomly crash every 5-10 minutes. Typically when I go to a new Destination, and the countdown reaches 0:00. Previous 1080TI was also OC'd. Don't know if this is a known issue, or if it is already somewhere, just thought I'd try and bring some light to the situation. Found a few other threads on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTechSupport/comments/jbnkgd/random_freezing_rtx_3080/ https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTechSupport/comments/jh6gr3/3080_crashing_on_just_destiny_2/ https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTechSupport/comments/j8mty8/constant_crashes_on_loading_after_switching_to/

Did this get sorted out for you. I'm also using an EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra and a I9 9900K. It keeps crashing my system while playing Destiny 2. Some times it is bad enough that I end up having to reset my Cmos on my motherboard because it stops recognizing the GPU.

  • i bet thats down to your 3080 card being one of thous cards that has the annoying issue of crashing randomly. you should really check your card if it is one of thous if so i would ask for a replacement for another brand. check more here https://youtu.be/x6bUUEEe-X8?t=538 so try removeing all OC to just do a test and see if it keeps crashing even on stock clocks.

  • You can more or less blame nvidia for the poor launch of the 3000 series cards and it plaguing some titles.
