If the Talisman was removed from your inventory, there may be nothing to worry about. Originally, Wishender did not have a quest in the quest menu, and now that it does, some people have been able to progress the quest without the quest in their inventory properly syncing. Go check out Four-Horn Gulch in the Tangled Shore, and as you leave the map transition corridor into the Gulch, look off to the right side of the area for a Toland Orb that you can interact with. If it's there, interacting with it will continue the quest.
