I’m not saying I’m not buying Beyond Light, but it got me wondering about people who don’t buy it. Do they lose access to Destiny 2 as a whole?

Edited by ADragonWithin: 10/26/2020 11:36:55 PMIf you don't purchase Beyond Light, an expansion for Destiny 2, then you simply won't have access to the content that requires Beyond Light. There will be an adjusted experience for people that don't own the expansions as the Destiny Content Vault is removing some of the Year-1 areas and campaigns. The full extent of what will be available for the players of just Destiny 2 New Light (both free players and those that choose not to purchase any expansion content) should be announced closer to launch. To my knowledge, you do not have to own any Expansions in order to play Destiny 2 after the DCV becomes active, but your experience may feel a limited with the removal of the Year 1 content. Bungie has stated that content will be available, but, again, the full extent of what will be available hasn't been fully announced.

7 RepliesHey there. You'll be able to play all the content except for the new stuff introduced with beyond light. So you won't be able to play the new story, new raid, likely any new strikes added with Beyond Light, etc. But you'll still retain access to everything you have now that is not going into the DCV. Hope this helps!
