450 autos need some serious help

They struggle against their 600 rpm cousins. They occupy the same range as a 600 with a worse body shot and optimal ttk. 600s and 450 basically do the same body shot damage. 450s also struggle against pulse and handcannons. Heres what I would recommend for a buff. Undo the range nerfs that occurred in d2y1. Increase the damage to 30 crit and 20 body. This gives them a .8 ttk which is what 600s were before the buff.

    The right roll helps drastically for 450 and under auto rifles. I've used the werewolf and that 360 auto rifle or whatever that came out this past season (sudden brainfart made me lose the name) with various rolls in crucible against the annoying hunger that vastly dominates the PvP scene currently and done quite well against them with certain rolls... And terrible with others.

    • 360s need even more attention. Half the time you can't even hit anything at their intended range because of all the -blam!-ing recoil they have, and the "high impact frame" bonus of standing still is absolute trash. They need to rework the frame bonus, and give them reasonable stability.

          • Love my Dynamic Sway/Rampage Summoner. Love my Subsistence/Rampage Gnawing Hunger. Why arent ALL autos 600rpm? They fire the same rounds. What makes 450's slower?

          • 450s have greater range than 600s but due to their year 1 nerfs they experience fall off more rapidly, which paired with their awful ttk is no good. 600s, due to their overtuned damage, allows them to poke outside of their intended range a bit better than 450s, but outside of a very select few, 600s don't even come close to 450s range wise. 600s have an average 25m range and 450s have upwards of 29m on average, with some of the highest being about 33m without scoped options. Giving them a ttk improvement (technically they hit .80 already, but only against 4 resilience and below) will certainly help their crappy capabilities, but they have to be careful with 450s so that they don't replace long range options entirely. Personally, I'd say just tune the precision damage to allow for a .80 against 7 resilience and below guardians (I don't want to do the numbers right now) and don't touch bodyshot damage. This way, much like how I want 600s to be, there will be a direct benefit for being accurate to reward accuracy rather than just spray and hitting bullets anywhere. Autos need lethality to be good but precision should be how it reaches that lethality. Reward accuracy, not random shots.

              450 Autos are ok with extended mag, and a Getaway Artist grenade arcsoul build on a Warlock, with 100+ discipline. Also one of my Braytech Werewolf autos has almost max range.

              • I would say 360 autos need even more They just don’t fit in with 600 autos and 340 pulses doing so well and 360 having low aim assist low stability and they are really not forgiving. I have a 100 range halfdan-d with tap the trigger and rangefinder that I love but it’s practically unusable, especially on console

                      They don't need help, everything that is created is planned the way it is. If they wanted weapons to compete with one another the sandbox would do their job as they should be doing, but they don't. Edit: This company cracks me up. They have PvP players under so much control it's comical. Not all, but I would say the majority of them. Case and point, they make PvP chase the next go-to all the while complaining that players are not using certain weapons 😂

                        • The ONLY time I use a 360/450 is when I'm playing on my own (story/mission/patrols etc) because EVERYTHING else outguns them. Use a 450 in a strike with a few matchmade Recluse & Gnawing users & you'll get the lowest kills. They'll be shredding in all directions while you spend your time reloading & chipping a Dreg with a full clip 🙄 I know there's a buff on the way, but for now, have 2 re-issued guns with the worst TTK in the game 😅😂🤣
