Okay, just know getting it first try will be difficult so you my first advise to you is not quit and keep trying. The rest of this paragraph will be ways to make it easier and what I used to solo flawless the pit of heresy.
Step 1. The first encounter.
Exotic
Izangi’s burden:
Ikelos SMG
Seraph rounds
Threat detector
Surrounded/demolitionist
Falling guillotine
Exotic
Phoenix protocol
Direct stats
Recovery/intellect
Mods
Solar plexus (artifact)
Heavy/special ammo finders (helmet/greaves)
Health buff from warmind cells (solar gauntlets)
Warlock: Well of Radiance
These loadout will be used for the first 3 encounters, the 4th encounter and the boss require different exotics and weapons
For this encounter, you need to kill three bosses. If you don’t know the mechanics I suggest you go do the dungeon with a team and familiarize yourself. Go to the nearest symbol right below where you place the banner. Kill the gate keeper with your Izangi and clear the rest of the ads. go in the room kill the sword barer and remember the symbols above in the room. There are several but doing it solo only allows a few to be required.
Icecream, which is the bottom left side.
X, which is the closest to your right.
Lunar ship, which is top right.
Burger, which is mid center.
Brick, which is bottom right.
The wizard is simple, just go in the center of the room (ignore the other wizards) and plant your Well of radiance, make sure you have a sword with full ammo and just jump up and down while spamming heavy attacks on the boss, if you hold still they will kill you. For the knight just kill the thrall with a heavy attacks and sword swing him two or three times then block, be sure to use the super attack. The shrieker is the easiest, just sit right in the entrance and block. Once finished a green beam of light will appear in the center of the map keep your sword just swing yourself there, kill the gate keeper and hold block and wait till it says “the way is open” where all the ads will despawn and you can progress.
Step 2. The ogre encounter.
Note. This will require ball duping. If you don’t know how, here’s how to do it.
PlayStation. Put the top of your thumb on square and the root of your thumb on triangle. Make sure that you push them at the same time, but the tip of your thumb needs to be on Square.
Xbox. The same thing applies for Xbox but it is X and Y
To start, quick run to the right pathway and soon you’ll find the hole where the knight that bares the void orb is, kill the orange bar acolytes, demolitionist should be active on your ikelos SMG. Only use your grenade for overshield. Keep your distance, shoot him first with your izangi and finish him off with Falling guillotine. Take the orb and exit the same way you came in. Further down the path there will be another hole. You will recognize it because it’s right next to a turn section and the ogre’s shadow always appears as your get closer. The ogre may try to kill you. Just be quick and you’ll be fine. In the hole will be a jagged tunnel, thrall will start to come out of the ground. Skip them and run as fast as you can. Once you’ve reached and end of the tunnel you will be right next to the orb deposit. If your mini map has a huge red bar right outside just sit tight and kill the thrall. If not don’t hesitate, sprint out and deposit. Once finished the closest hole to your right will be where the next knight is, if you have successful duped the ball just run through them. The next orb deposit is right next to you when you exit. Remember don’t be afraid of using your Well of Radiance. Once finished the next tunnel to the third orb deposit will also be on your right. Same rules apply. If you’ve mastered it. The encounter can be finished in less then 5 minutes.
Step 3. The third encounter.
Note this will also need ball duping.
Be sure to have your super and grenade (There’s a banner) kill the ads worshipping the alter and step on the plate. Cast a small healing rift and kill the knight that appears down the tunnel on your right (be sure to consume all four bullets in your izangi to just one powerful bullet) finish off the knight, consume your grenade for the over shield if your low health. Step on the plate again. Cast your Well of Radiance between the plate and the orb depositer. Dupe the ball 3 times (you have to do it 6 times) and step back on the plate. Knights will be shooting you so be sure to stay in the well, thrall will be trying to stop you. Just heavy attack them with your fallen guillotine. Do it 3 more times and that’s the end of the Third encounter. Also remember you have to be really quick about it. But don’t grab the ball to soon after it’s been duped, it will disappear. And do it all before your Well of Radiance times out. For the drop, take it slow. Be sure to move against the grinders moving up and down. It’s not that hard once you do it a couple times.
Step 4. The 4th encounter.
Loadout. Any solar energy weapon. Falling guillotine. And a good primary for the ads.
Before you get started look at the 3 symbols, to know where they are, just google a map and you will know where they are. The rest is pretty self explanatory, all I have to say is to really trust your jumps and there are a couple passage ways that lead to the wizard, two on the left, one in the middle. You’ll know them when you see them.
Step 5. The boss fight.
Note. This will require ball dupe.
Exotic:
witherhoard
Ikelos SMG
Seraph rounds
Threat detector
Demolitionist
Falling guillotine
Exotic:
Vesper of Radiance
Mods
Oppressive Darkness (artifact)
Grenade ammo finders (helmet)
Sword scavenger (greaves)
Warlock: bottom-tree Nova bomb
For this encounter you have to kill the same 3 bosses like in the first encounter. Be sure to have full ammo, jump down and kill the sword baring knight on the left. Quickly go to the shrieker also clear all the ads in that area as well. Go down deposit and duplicate the orb, do it again if you can and all the ads will run at you, once the are almost on top of you cast your small healing rift and an arc shock wave will kill all the ads. Once finished deposit the final orb and the damage faze will start. Throw your grenade and cast nova and do as much DPS as you can, keep your distance and kill the cursed thrall, once the damage faze is over retreat back to where the shrieker is. It will spawn but don’t kill it, just wait. Cursed thrall will try to get you. Just shoot a witherhoard bullet as the stairs and keep your distance. Soon Zulmak will plant his sword, once he’s finished ads will spawn and you can kill the shrieker. Take it slow (not too slow) and do it again. Be sure to proc devour if you have to.
But yeah that’s all there is to it. It actually went very smoothly for me. I hope this helps you. Let me know if it did. I’m going to write one on the Prophecy Dungeon but I haven’t mastered it yet. I know you can pull it off, just don’t give up.

2 RepliesI’m just luxuriating in all the time I’ve saved in not doing this...😎 However that doesn’t take away from the impressiveness of your achievement! Great job soloing it!
Sorry, all out of salt.
-
Bump.
-
4 RepliesCool. Now do it with the hunter and titan.
-
2 RepliesHere's my advice... 1. Spend hours doing it. 2. Die a lot. 3. Finally finish it.
4. Ball up in a corner and cry.
-
2 RepliesTo add onto this personally from my experience. Rat King is fairly nice due to the invisibility on reload if you are not a hunter. its better with the catalyst though because it can heal you on vermin activation. That thing has kept me alive so many times its unreal.
-
8 RepliesI would just run devour warlock for all of it and for the plate encounter if you can't ball glitch just run trinity ghoul with the catalyst a kinetic sniper or heavy grenade launcher for the boomer knights and a shotgun or sword for the void knights. Ogre encounter someone correct me if I'm wrong can't you blind them with a grenade launcher like wendigo?
-
Starfire proto and Max discipline is also great! Eat those healing nades.... Eat them with your mouth.
-
8 RepliesPeople underestimate ikelos SMG so much 😂 That thing melts with surrounded.

3 RepliesEdited by InfernalDegree0: 10/16/2020 5:17:30 PMReal OGs do the solo flawless without ball duping. In all seriousness though, I actually really like doing totems without duping, it requires precision and good timing of abilities, but is very doable for most players. My strategy was Izanagi, Recluse, Wendigo on a Devour Warlock. I'd start by consuming a grenade and just killing adds on the plate until the first Knight spawns, kill it with Wendigo or Nova Bomb, then dunk the ball. I would then immediately consume another grenade for Devour and spawn snipe one of the boomer Knights. At this point, you just finish off the other boomer Knight and repeat 5 more times. The room seems overwhelming, but it is really easy to manage if you take care of the adds in the center inbetween each Knight kill. Another PSA for anyone trying to do any solo flawless dungeon: Do it this season, with enemy-specific mods going away, it will be more difficult in future seasons. Although to be fair, PoH is pretty easy without them.

I tried this method, I haven’t made it yet but I got farther I’ve ever been. Thank you for posting this, it helps a lot 👍

1 ReplyI read the first couple of lines, realised I don't have access to this dungeon, so decided to bump regardless. How wonderful of you to take the time to create this post to help your fellow guardians. Thank you on behalf of those who might have forgotten to thank you and have a great weekend.

9 RepliesThere’s one thing you forgot to mention on the 1st encounter. Upon running to get the symbols there will be orges shooting at you in the bridges between the pillars of those symbols. My suggestion?: Warlock’s divine protection after landing,Hunters with smoke bombs and titans with barricade

1 ReplyDidnt read, but take an upvote for being positive and helpful. Good stuff. 👍
-
3 RepliesLololol. Stopped reading at Baall Duping. Seriously man? Can’t make a guide without cheating? Third encounter is simple with voidwalker/devour/void secondary/Nazarec. Instead you want to teach cheating? So sad.

As someone with no interest in soloing the Pit of Heresy, I would like to offer you an upvote and a bump for trying to help people. Edit: because I misread, lol. -
2 RepliesEdited by Dr_Cornwallace42: 10/16/2020 10:32:13 AMSome critiques to your advice as someone who just recently did this on basically their first attempt (failed once for not thinking and dying to the wrong door after the first encounter lol) with the help of a lot of guides in advance. For all encounters: Exotic armors aren’t necessarily required so running something like Transversive Steps is very helpful I really didn’t use any of the mods you said. Solar plexus imo is highly useless in this activity and even with running a void subclass for 3/4 of the encounters, I didn’t even run oppressive darkness. My mods:
Taking charge Protective light Hive barrier* Hive armaments* 2x concussive dampeners 2x minor resist 1x boss resist *You can obtain these mods from Crown of Sorrow or Menagerie 3 times per character 9 times a week
1st encounter:
I ran MT, Recluse, Xenophage instead but honestly that’s just whatever you prefer. Speaking of what you prefer, although I could’ve just ran Transversive Steps, I did Contraverse Hold and Top Tree Nova Bomb
2nd/3rd Encounter:
The Well method I found really risky for someone who doesn’t know ball duping well and it causes you to forget the totem. With the thrall in the way and the knights spamming you it just becomes way too hectic. For the 2nd encounter, I used MT, Trinity Ghoul, and Falling Guillotine. O my I can’t stress enough how amazing that exotic is. For second encounter specifically, Izanami is obsolete. So using Devour Warlock and Trinity Ghoul is wayyyyy more safe than running well on this encounter. You goal isn’t speed running, your goal is completion. With barrier, resist mods, and emergency protective light due to the charged with light you’ll have stacked over COMBINED with Devour, it is cakewalk. For 3rd encounter I actually made a loadout error and still completed it. I ran MT, Trinity Ghoul, and Falling Guillotine with Devour again. Like I said before, your goal is to survive and complete the activity. Getting 6 ball dupes in a row is such a high risk especially after all that work getting to totems. If you are relying on 6 ball dupes without it glitching out on you then I find that not the proper way. So instead, I did 2 ball dupes per ball (probably could’ve done 3 but I played it safe), then cleared ads with the holy Trinity bow itself. Now I should have used a sniper in this encounter for the knights because they are very oppressive but MT did alright. I only got to red health once because I didn’t realize my devour wasn’t active. But at red health I’m nearly immune due to all the mods. I feel as though this should be the encourager strategy to this encounter because it lowers the risk and raising the percentage of your clear.
4th Encounter:
I still can’t even tell you where the symbols are, I ran well, Tranquility I got from the run, Summoner (any solar weapon as stated is fine) and Xenophage. I got nothing major here, just take your time. I just ran around until enemies were in the area.
Boss encounter:
Truthfully and in the most respectful way possible, idk why in the world you stopped using well here of all places lol. That was so ballsy that fire can kill you in like 4 ticks. But anyway I ran Well (still rocking my Transversive Steps), Witherhoard, recluse, and Falling Guillotine. It took me 3 phases cause I had terrible damage on the first phase and him to a pinch in the 2nd. The method is really all the same, I still utilized ball duping and only used the shrieker for the orbs and the knight boss once. I never touched the wizard side.
Those are my commentary notes and critiques for an average player going for this. I am no PvE god. I do believe anyone can do this by simply watching guided and being familiar with the activity like how I did it. My run took me 55 minutes so don’t be discouraged if it is taking you “too long” Although I heavily criticized your guide, I will be looking forward to your Prophecy guide as I still have to do that one myself. Who knows, maybe you’ll take some pointers out of my guide. I know I will be taking some out of yours for it Take care and good job for being a positive Guardian Edit: added my loadout for 4th encounter and cleaned up the big block of text
