One shot kill weapons that can kill from long range and be used like a shotgun thanks to large head hitboxes, aim assist, bullet magnetism, and a broken flinch system is not balanced. It's silly that I can shoot first in medium range with a Pulse/Auto Rifle, land all my shots and then get deleted even though I'm fighting from a range that should favor my weapon.
Emoting around corners so I dont get zapped and seeing red glares and then flanking around just to see more red glares just isn't fun and i don't understand how anyone could defend this "gameplay."

Edited by PLNB0019: 10/22/2020 5:40:38 PMPSA I’ve posted something like this in several forums. Food for thought. Here are regular opinions I hear from both forums and in my discord chat: I f ing hate snipers, always camping in the back with their massive aim assist. It’s a chicken shit way to play! I f ing hate shot gunners. always aggressively pushing sliding around corners, no skill losers. I f ing hate erintil/bastion users. No skill hip firing one shot kill weapons while bot walking. I f ing hate MT users.... ok I hate these guys too And this is a real quote from our casual clan PvP match last night from one of our top players “God dammit there is a guy in the back with Polaris Lance. Someone kill him. He is just sitting at A firing that damn thing. What a piece of shit” Those of you with a little sense will have picked up on what I’m saying here. Everyone hates the play styles that they don’t play. When in reality if that same player were really good at one of them they would change to it ASAP. How about we stop complaining about play styles in crucible. Let’s keep Bungie honest with poor balancing when it comes to weapons but there is a counter to every play style. Learn it and use it. But for gods sake stop whining about the way others play. It’s a space magic game. There are loads of ways to have fun in PVP. Try some of them.

2 RepliesSnipers, shotties and fusions should be heavy. Buff them to match power with other heavies. Pvp with only HC, AR’s SMG’s, pulse rifles, scouts and bows would be a huge improvement right across the board.

3 RepliesI like how sniping wasn't really a problem until jack-of-all-trades snipers, Beloved and Revoker, were introduced. Look at Beloved. Its low zoom means its massive aim assist caps out at closer ranges. Its aim assist is huge for its archetype. It has high base range. It can roll with snapshot and quickdraw. It can trade quickdraw for moving target. The thing has zero drawbacks and does so much work for the user.

1 ReplyI am sick of PVP apes that think a large portion of Destiny players actually play PVP aspects. They mix it up and more play PVE on a regular basis. I don't know anyone who comes to Destiny 2 to play and ENJOY PVP solely! PVP sucks in Destiny 2. Too many cheaters and aimbots to be fun! Tell me this how does anyone get hit with 3 grenades from the Colony and one was a direct hit and lose no health? Or how does anyone have unlimited super abilities? All things that have happened right before my eyes. They are obviously cheating! What gets done about it NOTHING! cause Bungo is on the Bong-o and fell asleep at the wheel (Like always). It wouldn't kill the game to remove PVP entirely or give you your own spaces and weapons. PVP is strangling the life out of Destiny 2 and its weapons. Enough said...

Personal opinion, I think anyone that uses one shot weapons, heavies, and supers constantly, just kill Crucible. None of those things require any skill. I get different play styles, myself I literally only use maybe one weapon, and only use my super when countering another super. Won't sully myself with shotguns or snipers, I hate them. That being said: The sheer amount of perks you can equip for all of these things to maximize ammo and super usage is detrimental to Crucible balance. They give counters, but in that, I make sure to always have vorpal weapon on every weapon I use in Crucible, and I've noticed now, that most of them can't keep up with supers at all, so the perk meant to combat supers at least, is not enough. I feel like they nerfed it, because it used to be pretty effective for me, but I'm not 100% sure. When it comes to PvP games, most players will ALWAYS take the easiest kills, or the laziest route for lack of a better term, and every single time this is the debate that happens, so its obvious the problem is in that mentality, which is something developers, nor anyone else have no control over, so in order to curb that, they need to put strict limits on everything one shot, and the easiest ways to get kills to keep it genuinely competitive. Limiting ammo, limiting supers, etc. But to all this, all I can say is its not likely to happen.

3 RepliesPeople defend it because it gives them a false sense of being good at the game.

10 RepliesShotgunning is oppressive and annoying Fusioning is oppressive and annoying Autoing is oppressive and annoying. At least with a sniper you need either a head shot or two body shots (unless your using a rapid frame then you need high impact reserves to double body usually) If your running down a lane and see red and get sniped and you decide to do that 5 more times. It's not the sniper it's you being an idiot.

2 RepliesJust emote lanes homie

This is a symptom of a game design problem. each weapon has an ideal range and purpose and for the most part work as intended. That being said , if your going to use a sniper rifle then it should be for aiming down sights and sniping , that is its intended purpose right? So the very first thing bungie should do is disable fire from the hip mode , the second thing they can do is increase damage fall off sharply as a target gets closer and the player should then be switching to a hand cannon or shotty. Easiest way to spot a bot user on pc is when they slide from around a corner and headshot you with a sniper. While sniping is a problem of bad design , far and away the most abused is melee. Melee should be a under 2m option , we are after all punching someone right? e.g many times i see someone float high above another player and get a melee kill. And when macro'ed a player can swap to a shotty, slide, fire and then finish with a melee faster than the eye can blink. Bungie just needs to get a bit more stringent about weapon / combat ranges and implement some anti- macroing code like a minimum key press delay more in line with human reaction time.

1 ReplyDrop all of those sissy rifles down a deep hole drilled into Europa's ice crust.

1 ReplyIts just an issue of ammo economy. Too much special ammo is out there.

11 RepliesEdited by thatdudeEd54: 10/16/2020 5:33:08 AMPeople who are angry about sniping.....maybe pick up a sniper and give it a shot yourself? Blame aim assist all you want, im just saying you still have to aim for the head. Revoker ismt gonna get you easy kills if you dont know how to snipe with it

6 RepliesPeople that don't understand how getting shot generally is oppressive are annoying. They're bullets ya dummy, big ouchie

1 ReplyThey should remove aim assist from one hit kill weapons so that they actually require skill to use.

Honestly don’t know what to say. Doesn’t matter what Bungie does, there will always be complaints about the meta. They will nerf snipers and then people will continue screaming about shotguns. Then shotguns will get nerfed and it will be hand cannons or whatever is next. This game is a vicious cycle of Bungie not realizing you can’t satisfy everyone. I hated sniper rifles. Hated them because I sucked with them. Forced myself to use them and practice with them and got better. Honestly idc what happens. The real GOOD player, Will adapt and overcome to whatever the Meta is. So do whatever you guys want, just know that when you get rid of snipers, there will always be something else. Everyone will run to it, and in a few months people will be crying about the next weapon type. It’s why I save every roll in my vault that looks good, because with the way this game constantly changes, chances are something you have will end up being a “God Roll” at some point.

1 Replyhey I feel you. This is what destiny is and will always be. they tried the sniper shotgun and fusion in the heavy slot. double primary I even enjoyed this time when it was all about gun skill and primary gunfights when you died to a more skilled opponent you just died to your bad engagement of the fight it was easier to take than being one banged from the other side of the map. you knew who had heavy ammo and looked out for them. So how did that workout apparently so many people left the game that bungie had to change it back like d1. So my playstyle had to change to accommodate it. I played d1 so the change wasn't that hard but the complaints today are the same as the end of d1. too much special ammo. at least we don't have 1 bang fusion grenades I'm talking to all you warlocks out there. So I don't like to say it but you can counter snipers but it takes skill and a change of playstyle. ie play more passive bait shots while using cover or be more aggressive and shotgun rush using cover and movement to make them rush and miss their shot. still a high skilled player will still kill you or a cheater with aimbot which is more common these days. but bungie will not change things like this so adapt or move on .

not sure what platform you are on but it is WAY worse on the pc version agree that snipers need to be toned down a ton
-
5 RepliesPeople using snipers should not be able to switch from a hand cannon to sniper right in my face and instantly head shot me. That's broken. The aim assist on snipers is a problem. I should not be getting headshot out of a super moving and zig zagging at speeds faster then a sniper should be able to move. I'm not saying nerf them to the ground but something needs to be done. Give me all the reasons you want but they are the only special weapon that has not been put in their place and it's affecting the crucible.
-
1 ReplyThere are ways to counter snipers, but that may require skill. And I’m not talking about emoting or sword peeking around corners. Sometimes it’s a fight fire with fire scenario. Or you could use they’re loadout against them. But like I said it may require skill. Also don’t worry when Beyond light launches sniper scopes are going to be nerfed.

5 RepliesGo play Pokémon then.

7 RepliesIf you have 3 truly great snipers, you’ll rarely lose. You can have 3 great anything else facing them, but they’ll still win most. That’s my issue. There’s very little countering snipers with anything but a sniper. Oppressive is the best way I could put it. They’re just defacto the best option in most cases since anything that could combat them just takes more shots or has a limited range comparatively.

1 ReplyHave you tried gitting gud?
