I've been trying to teach people raids for the past few months and recently realised that guided games existed, with emblems as rewards for various numbers of encounters. This topic has been brought up in the past but it still hasn't been addressed, with the only slight exception being that guided games is no longer a thing for the leviathan raid. This leads me to believe that bungie is taking the attitude to remove it, which is a shame as I enjoy teaching raids to new people. However, without a reward incentive I'm not sure i can justify doing it post Beyond Light.
The system requires a team of 4-5 to teach 1-2 players through matchmaking. However, at least 3 people need to be in the same clan to start it. Why? And why not everyone, if anyone at all? Clans are pointless enough as it is, so why do they need to be a barrier for an already redundant system? There is no difference between the capabilities of an average mixed team compared to a clan, so why a clan is required is beyond me.
Raids require vocal communication, so why are people able to join without having a microphone? And why is there not a language selection option? One of the game's largest content creators matched with someone that didn't even speak english, which makes a completion impossible.
TL;DR: Make mic checks essential, increase rewards, improve criteria for guide teams. We're trying to help people, at least give us some support in doing so

2 RepliesThey can’t delete it, since that would be an admittance that it was a bad idea. And they can’t fix it, because that would be an admittance that there was something wrong with it
-
3 RepliesIMO, this company needs to stop wasting resources on things like this so they can avoid putting optional matchmaking in most activities.
-
Or just implement optional matchmaking for everything or damn near everything. Boom. Done.
-
Guided Games = pathetic attempt to appease those who want raid matchmaking and a poor excuse to not make an in-game lfg.
-
If it upsets you that much, just pretend they are not there. They cannot hurt you anymore if you don't look at them.
-
D2 just needs an in-game LFG System like a an NPC, LFG Area, Board, Interface or something...
-
Or just add normal working MM
-
Its been in beta for 4 years...
-
2 RepliesNobody told you to help ppl learn raids. Dont take it upon yourself then whine that your not being rewarded for it. Or do it and shut up. This game has enough issues without Bungie catering to some small group that makes up a fraction of a percentage.
-
1 ReplyHonestly let's be real they are never going to fix it I mean the leviathan raids were out for what 3 years? And they still experience the same bugs players have complained about since their release. Their idea of a fix is just removing it. So they might as well remove guided games and call it a failure as it truly was.
-
Chill bro it’s still in beta
-
everyone knows they'll go with delete

Edited by Yura Dumaz: 10/14/2020 5:15:02 PMRemember when that dumb -blam!- got on stage and talked about how they were gonna make guided games so awesome and better than before? What ever happened? Bungie doesn't even talk about guided games anymore.
-
Guided Games is a leftover relic of an era of bad decisions that was D2 Vanilla They need to just delete it
-
1 ReplyEdited by BIRB: 10/13/2020 11:20:25 PMHonestly I don’t understand why they couldn’t just implement an lfg into the game instead of guided games all together. You know, that thing that third party developers are able to create with flying success because it applies to all activities and it benefits all players involved instead of just relying on a few kind people to carry a newbie? If Bungie pulls it off correctly, it’ll be the most popular LFG because it’s the one in game, and nobody will be left without a team. It would be perfect for the tower, making it an actual social hub. I mean the LFG here on Bungie.net is pretty solid, it just needs to be in game. I’ve always thought it was a no brainer.
-
1 ReplyI remember I tried using it but the clan left because I didn’t know what to do bruh Like why
-
4 RepliesWhy are they the only 2 options? Both of those require development time and money. Why isn't there a third option which is just "leave it as it is"? If nobody is using it, it's doing no harm just being there.
-
2 RepliesEdited by Olórin: 10/13/2020 11:59:00 PMBeen saying it for a while and I'd say it again, this game would benefit a lot more if it had an in game LFG rather than guided games. Luckily im on xbox so the built in game lfg helps there in general but if destiny had its own itll just feel natural and better for the community to be connected to eachother a lot easily through this method. Have it in the tower or just a seperate tab in the game menus/directory menu, surely Bungie has the ability to add an ingame LFG feature with all the options this app has only difference is that itll be easily accessible rather than scrolling through the app. Pretty sure most players are on this app for the lfg function so why not add it in game? Itll benefit everyone imo.

6 RepliesEverything should have an optional matchmaking, its really not that hard.
-
1 Reply3-4 clan mates is needed because they understand the mechanics and generally stick around for the 2 newbies. If you have 1 sherpa trying to guide 5 blueberries, expect someone to leave after 30 minutes of explaining.
-
1 ReplyI've never touched guided games, the emblems are cool but I'm the one that's needs to be guided haha
-
It’ll probably just be removed to be honest.
-
5 RepliesWish you were on ps4. Been wanting to learn garden for awhile now.
-
1 ReplyI tried guided games solo twice, once for Leviathan in y1, once a few months ago for Garden of Salvation which I was still learning and tired of LFG posts. Both times I was sitting in the queue waiting forever. It's not worth my time.

1 ReplyBut....but... but.... wE wAnT RaId MaTcHmAkInG...
