Why are the fallen back in the cosmodrome?
In the lore, towards the end of d1 they left the cosmodrome, even the splicers. They dropped their guns and left. The hive seemed to have lost the cosmodrome to the splicers. So they're coming back as well. What gives?

15 RepliesWell due to the fact multiple generations of fallen have come and gone over the years, newer Eliksni are leading their crews back to old Russia due to a lack of Guardian presence and free land The reason they left in the first place was because the Guardians had become so strong and crippled their leadership so much that the only solution was to unify under one banner But after the red legion kicked the last city's kneecaps in, Guardian forces withdrew from the cosmodrome due to a lack or man power in new key locations of patrol With the Guardians out, the fallen can move back in

Same reason cockroaches always come back, we stomped on the ones that were around but did not clean up the mess so the pests returned after a while.

Bungie is hoping the nostalgia factor will outshine all of the problems in this game amongst the fanboys. Lore be dammed. Verisimilitude be damned. They're rewriting the intro for new players, too. Just ignore the last 5-6 years.

2 RepliesSiva was pushed back to the plaugelands as we destroyed any ability to create new siva so since they have limited supplies and we basically destroy it. They were forced back. Now to answer your question. Its actually a very easy explaination. Fallen are pirates essentially and more importantly... Scavengers. The cosmodrone is ripe with technology and potential for them. Also... Sepiks primes corpse is there and they probably want his parts back.

Its simple like most lore inconsistencies, bungie sucks at putting a story together. They are great at writing lore cards but forget they wrote them when they do things in game involving story
