The haunted forest is a good example. How much fun do you think everybody would’ve had if it would’ve been haunted forest Mayham for example. I understand making the game more difficult but this is supposed to be a fun short event. It would’ve been more fun to see how far you really could get feeling powerful instead of always feeling restricted. I would’ve rather seen people bragging about going 30 or 40 levels instead of complaining about having to farm another new item introduced into the game just to extend the playtime. You would’ve gotten those results with playtime by doing the forest a little more differently. Just saying Food for thought.

1 ReplyWhat you're describing is the Verdant Forest. Haunted Forest is fine as it is and the modifiers are rarely even noticable with the exception of the Unyielding Terror easily oneshotting you with Glass/Blackout. Being vastly overpowered is incredibly boring.
-
2 RepliesIt's stupidly easy as it is.
-
3 RepliesI disagree. We had an event similar to the Haunted Forest that offered only positive multipliers, The Revelry. That game mode was fun for like the first day then became incredibly boring. It got to the point where you would intentionally throw just to end the activity because you could go on indefinitely. Having a timed event where you see how far you can get is a nice change of pace, making the rounds get harder as you go makes it a bit more challenging which is good.

They have interesting modifiers on prestige eow and spire, they should throw them into strikes, along with the old d1 strike modifiers. Also bring back burns! 300% over the 25% singes.
-
Glass plus blackout combo is so infuriating. Literally one melee hit can kill you. Cause thats fun gameplay in an activity like the haunted forest
-
Witherhoard/Summoner/Spinny Sword makes it easy enough. Especially with a heavy ammo finder and the forest specific perk that lets you deal more damage to ALL enemies. Swords + Oppressive Darkness nades insta melt every boss at the end of the waves. But I do get what you are saying. Mayhem would be fun too!

One of our Clan is called Negative Modifier. Is funny.

4 RepliesBlackout is the single most annoying modifier on the list. The Hive with Blackout is all but bs. No radar and one hit and it's adios señor Speedy.

One community member asked the other day Why are you so afraid of generosity Bungie?? Another great question would be Why are you so afraid of fun activities where power fantasy is 1st Bungo?? But it would never catch the attention of Kelly's post, cause challenging is the new fun for some people, and blackout + airborne is so cheap difficulty that it could pass as challenging for some audience so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
Yeah it gets tiresome. Negatives on mods is pointless as well. Bungie doesn't want you being too powerful and enjoying too much of that space magic in a space magic game.

Welcome to Destiny , sucking fun out of their own game for 6 years... "You can do it your own way if its done just how we say".....
-
Something something challenge, something something fun isn't relevant, something something content
-
Yeah, negative modifiers and effing STOMP mechanic!! It's just ridiculous. Remember in D1 when you had the modifier like grenadier and Solar burn and we just ran through strikes chuckin' 'nades everywhere. That was so dang fun to once in a while just run stuff over like that.
-
1 ReplyExactly. Remember the daybreak modifier in D1? That was the only reason I grinded normal strikes for a while
-
It's something they've done in the past with other content. So clearly they want the forest to only get more difficult vs easier? Most people have access to oppressive darkness, what more do you need?
-
The whole point is to make each run more and more challenging to slow your pace down... Its meant to be negative modifiers after round 2. Get to round 9 and you have 4... Its been like that since the haunted forrest was first introduced.
-
Remember revelry? Good times
-
1 ReplyYou expect positive reinforcement for playing? HA!
-
1 ReplyJust put the mask on with the mid that means you can never die in the air.... ez clap
-
2 RepliesWouldn’t spamming supers and abilities just to clear that many runs get a bit boring? Not really anything to brag about! I agree though, the game could do with some more fun modes in general
