Players Just Sitting In Haunted Forest
I was trying to get my friend through Haunted Forest and through Level 7 for the Pinnacle Gear and the third player just sat. I have ran into this a few times the third player just sits at entrance and does absolutely nothing. Just letting the timer run out to get the chests. You need to do something to make players run the forest or else you are going to see everyone just sitting around at the entrance. I even messaged him and he just laughed. I would rather earn the chests like a chest earned per level would make people actually run the forest, not sit on their @$$.

Report, leave, wait a few min, and then load the Haunted forest back up. These players have no excuse because there is a firewall mode without matchmaking.

Shot at him a few times but no reaction Slightly different to OP experiences though, in that at least our AFK guy absolutely took part in the boss fights (hard not to when you’re teleported in, I guess) and then eventually joined in on Level 6 when it looked like we might run out of time before getting to Level 7. In the end, couldn’t be bothered reporting him for inactivity because we got through Level 7 plus he did just enough towards the end for me to not get fully narked off Kudos to our third player who was absolutely amazing and largely carried me and AFK guy through Level 7

I don't do it, but I can understand why some people do it. Shit takes at least 15 minutes to finish.

3 RepliesI said in another post about this that you should get a chest for each branch cleared up to pinnacle then have upgrade materials drop from levels after pinnacle cleared so prisms and such from 8 and upwards

Make it so the bonus chests increasingly spawn the more levels you clear, with a minimum of Level 5 for all 5 bonus chests. That'd immediately kill the afking without hurting the players doing them legit.

8 RepliesThin loot. Bad event design. Bungie’s obsession with forcing players to play everything rather than letting them play the parts of the game they want. So the result you force people to interact with the game in ways that they don’t enjoy, and are not rewarded. So they push back and find ways to break the game, and make it reward them in a more reasonable fashion.

yep. that's what happens, when you force the players first to spam boring old playlists to get the ciphers and then force them to do 15 minutes of an also boring forest, where the number of chests does not even depend on how many branches you do.... baaaaaad event design..... it is a halloween event. and what do we have to do 95% of the time? do strikes.... do crucible.... do gambit.... so tired of it....

I have had the same problem with snooty slackers in strikes Wayback in destiny 1 next time just firewall it so you and your friends can play.

That is a bit baffling sitting around waiting to get garbage. That doesn't sound like much fun. I agree if you don't like the haunted forest then don't play it. Horror Story and Werewolf are garbage anyway. It sucks when others want to mess with your fun.

Matchmaking aint all bad, cleared 9 branches with 2 other randoms yesterday.

Microcosm of the entire game. We don't complete content anymore, we just get through it. At that point there's really no motivation to keep playing.

I just sit, but then again, I take the solo option. Can’t hurt anyone that way. Honestly, I don’t know why people don’t simply take that option if they want to sit.
