Bungie it's time for some sniper aim assist nerf for console players.
The aim assist and (dimwit flinch mechanism) makes sniping so easy it's kinda laughable, except it makes you insane.

Console players have thumbsticks that can move the tiniest amount, maybe a couple centermeters in each direction. And your only using your thumb, not like PC, where you can have the precise movements of using your entire hand and arms. Aim assist is simply a weak and unreliable console thing to help the tiniest amount, cause let's get real, aim assist doesn't move your scope like ten feet left or right for you. It at most, can drag your scope, the tiniest amount imaginable. If you are aiming no where close to someone's head, you miss your shot. If you can't snipe worth shit, you miss all your shots. Never will aim assist be powerful enough to help you hit something you are not aiming at. Go into a private match and actually test the ranges with a sniper that it can actually drag itself towards a head. You will be surprised how close you can aim at someone's head and aim assist won't do jackshit for you. The only person that cries about aim assist is someone who gets sniped alot. Blaming aim assist as a way to tell yourself that your deaths are somehow not legitimate cause "aim assist caused me to get hit". When reality is you need to either just get good and play in ways you never get sniped or grow a pair of balls and just admit people kill you, not aim assist. I can play 10 matches of Crucible and chances are I will not be sniped once in all the matches. I rush everywhere, never ever stand still, slide around corners, avoid sniper alleys, and rush at people to shotgun them. I [b]never[/b] get sniped, and unsurprisingly, I never cry about aim assist as a result of it.

I tried sniping. Because of said easy mode. And I get stomped. So I leave sniping to snipers. I might give it a go again some other time. Just saying it's not that easy for me

4 RepliesIt's not aim assist. It's called bullet magnetism. If you're gonna make a post about it, at least use the right terminology. Also, I agree. No reason for it to be in the game. It makes all the casuals believe they can actually snipe. 😂

If you're posting this because you were shooting at someone and they still headshot you it's not exclusive to snipers. It's a general issue with how flinch redirects your reticle to an opponent's head when gettting shot. It's just REALLY annoying with snipers because of the typical range of engagement against one. I'm sure you've pulled off some kills you never should've gotten, but hey that happens. Not tryna trigger you, just shedding some light bud. Keep grinding, guardian :D

Personally I have only rocked my Omolon "Mornin' Comes" sniper I got in 2017 from Future War Cult. Personally, I prefer it as it has the lowest aim assist of any sniper, cause aim assist is wack. Aim assist is so -blam!-ing unreliable. Sometimes it works like it should, sometimes it overcorrects or under performs.

It’s more or less a flinch issue, AA could be toned down a bit tho.

Aim assist is not really the issue with snipers, the issue comes from the insane flinch mechanic that moves towards the head.

That's odd bc it's not Snipers I see as a problem. Its telesto and jotunn. Its flinch..flinch honestly needs removed from the game or severely decreased. Or maybe it just needs to work like its supposed to and not drag your sights into another player's head..The sniper target acquisition mods can be taken out. Increase the zoom on all short zoom scopes. Give a penalty to perks like snapshot and quick draw. While were at it certain abilities can be toned down...see where I'm going with this? No one wants a year 1 again. Yea there are some broken things in the game but the key is to just realize that Destiny is super casual and try not to take it seriously.
