Bungie, Aim Assist and Auto Tracking is getting annoying.

The Aim assist only really affects controller and console but the auto-tracking affects everything. Recently i have been doing a lot more PvE than usual. I have noticed tat there is a ridiculous amount of auto-tracking on swords and orbs. Constantly im trying to use them for movement but instead it just tracks an enemy that im really not trying to hit and im also not aiming anywhere near it. Its just annoying. So is aim assist when im playing PvP on console. I go to have a 1v1 with someone and someone slides near them or jumps behind them and my scope/reticle decides it wants to drag itself up and across with them so i miss my next few shots and then die. Other things such as Arbalest and other linear fusions have an absurd amount of aim assist. I can use it and easily miss but still get a kill. I can be killed by it, even though i watched the bullet fly past me. These things which may be considered helpful are just becoming annoying. Even melees do it. I might try to punch a low health red bar to get an overshield or buff to proc but instead i punch the yellow bar right next to it and die. Please, tone it all down or have an option to turn it off or down. Hit detection is another issue in this game. Especially in PvP. I can hit a headshot with a sniper and have the different audio cue for a headshot play but they just keep jumping or running. Seriously though, these things really need a fix.

  • The drag on weapons away from our intended target is on purpose so that we die more often. They think that equates to play being more challenging, but it just irritates. I had a Cabal jump past me and it turned my entire body 90 degrees! You get a boss 99% dead and your rocket veers off and kills a dreg and the boss kills you. Bungle won’t fix it because to them it is working as intended.

it would make most weapon types unplayable with a controller due to the different recoil values. Now taking it away only on sniper frames on PC would work as you are not using your sniper like a auto or HC and spaming shots like a mad man in every direct with pin point accuracy. This will do two things though. First make every beloved player that sits in the back with every perk, mod, & double remote connection rage then down vote. The second is force a sniper meta shift to Revoker only.

    • Remove reticle magnetism, I know exactly what you're saying and it's counter intuitive to say the least. I'm blasting someone in the face and another enemy in the background runs by and I'm shooting the air between the 2.. same with pve when there's a large group of red bars and I'm trying to nail 1 single headshot to proc dragonfly... and my reticle is constantly being pulled down the centre mass of the group of enemies I feel like I'm always fighting against this magnetic reticle that has never once benefited me.

The aim stickiness is part of aim assist and is only on controller. Bullet magnetism is also part of aim assist and is also a thing with M&K. The issue you’re having is with the stickiness. Without the stickiness, gunplay would feel significantly less smooth on controller. It occasionally messes you up, but it helps you a lot more.

      • problem is that bungie added aim assist to controllers and let those who use controllers play alongside those who play pc which is R***rded nomatter how you try and look at it....

[/quote] This is an actual aim assist related problem that is only part of it, not the whole thing. Bullet magnetism is another, something tuned for each gun Before asking to have an option to just shut it alllll off and create more problems for yourself, actually know the specifics of the issue your having.
