Idk who needs to read this, but there won’t be a Cayde-7. Yes we might be going to the Deep Stone Crypt but there are no “back ups” of Cayde’s mind. The number by an Exo’s name is indicative of how many times they’ve had their mind wiped due to Dissociative Exomind Rejection. A disease in which the Mind rejects the Exo body; as it knows it’s not right, not natural. There won’t be a Cayde-7, never will be. I’m fully prepared to receive the hate for this for “dashing hopes” or whatnot. But it’s just how it is, Cayde’s mind wasn’t just a bunch of 1’s and 0’s floating in around in a hunk of metal body suit. So you can’t have “backups” of it to do a “reboot” into some other Exo. Sorry, this may make me look like an asshat. But yeah.

As well as Bungie wanting to avoid paying for voice actors, on top of any other consideration.

1 ReplyYou put forth your personal opinion with such fierce conviction my friend! But at the end of the day, it’s still just your opinion.

Just let the Darkness resurrect Cayde as the next Raid boss...the first Dark Guardian...JK
Thats a joke, darkness wants an end, a final shape, not zombic reanimation like the traveler's little lights
-
Don’t worry, the Darkness is going to bring him back. 🤪

You are so sure of yourself! It's your opinion I guess but who knows what could happen. There could of been previous models that were stored.
-
I believe that too. There is a possibility that During the Exo Creation that(Not been Proven) the person's mind is Freezed (aka, Stasis) then a Digital picture is taken of ones mind. There a possibility of a Human Cayde(Frozen in Stasis) in the DSC. It's fun to theorize.

One has nothing to do with the other. You are correct, there will not be a Cayde-7 because Cayde-6s frame was destroyed. His mind did not need to be rebooted like (poor) Banshee. But that doesn't prevent the possibility that there might be a version of Cayde SIX (or ealier) stored in the Deep Stone Crypt and that we might get a non-Guardian version of Cayde back.
But it’s just how it is, Cayde’s mind wasn’t just a bunch of 1’s and 0’s floating in around in a hunk of metal body suit.
Fact is we don't understand enough about human consciousness.....or exo (Vex?) technology to say that with any credibility. If you read the game's lore, The Vex are able to simulate (non-Guardian/paracausal) consciousness with such HIGH fidelity that simulations themselves were not aware that they weren't actually human..... ...and those interacting with them couldn't be sure. If you played Curse of Osiris, then you need to recall that we never actually interacted with Osiris himself until he showed up in the final boss fight with Panoptes to assist us and get Sagira back. Everyone/everything we were interacting with prior to that were SIMULATIONS of Osiris created by the Vex technology in the Infinite Forrest. So you might not want to start assuming facts that are not in evidence.

I think mynameisbyf did a video on caluses shadows and in one of the lore entries it said something about one of the hunter shadows killed cayde 8 or 7.

11 RepliesPlease- explain to us more the absolutes of how things work in a game where robots have boobs and Mercury's gravity inexplicably behaves exactly the same as Earth's.

What if the stranger takes us back to the death moment and we instead stop uldren from killing him and thus preventing the curse from taking hold?

2 RepliesEdited by StrikeWave: 10/4/2020 9:24:31 PMIf uldren a hunter, people who think like me, let's make him the vanguard hunter ! For the others one who want to kill him again, go get -blam!-ed by Calus dick.

Alright but what if we skipped a number?
-
We are all aware that Cayde will not come back. Also even Bungie said that a Cayde-7 will not come, if there will be a cayde it will be with a 6. Your aren’t crushing anyone’s hopes but you are throwing out an accusation that doesn’t have any evidence to support your case. So don’t take anything for granted, like most of us we have our theories and that was just yours.
