I’m honestly not sure. Like the decisions are so brain dead and terrible I’d be shocked if they play there own game. And if they do it’s probably only against each other. Like some of the decisions in the game make no sense whatsoever and the only logical explanation is they don’t play there own game

I am constantly trying to figure this out and the answer always comes back the same, money/greed. They will take the easiest and most profitable route for them, the players are not a factor until it absolutely has to be. They are very good at fixing something very tiny or adding something new that they want but they can not fix “any” of the big problems or do anything the community has been asking for years. This company says one thing and then does another. Awhile back they said they knew there was a communication problem with their customers so they made a statement that they were going to change, that change ended with that statement. Long story short, rather they play their game or not, they either do not care or are not knowledgeable enough to fix any of the problems “they” created.

The Devs do what they’re told.

I know your post is hyperbolic, but I'll answer anyway. Yes, they do play. There are numerous TWABs and twitter posts by the Bungie team members where they talk about their own personal accounts separate from the testing team. Hot tip: if you want to make your point stick a bit better, provide examples of what you consider illogical...but also determine if what you're referring to is an oversight, a bug, or an unintentional consequence.
