What is Bungie working on to stop cheaters on Consoles

I am curious if Bungie is working with Console developers to find ways to detect third party devices and the modifying of connection devices to stop people from cheating. If not care to explain exactly what plans are in motion to stop the abuse of these things.

Well if you can figure it out there are substantial gains to be made. Modded controllers and hardware are solely the console manufacturer responsibility. There’s not much they can do about denial of service type attacks, because there are ways an attacker can hide their public IP. Lag switch detection can be circumvented. Eventually a pattern will emerge especially if Bungie receives enough complaints.

  • Hey there! Any information you see about the reduction of cheaters in game will be told in their TWAB. If you suspect someone of cheating, you can use the in-game report tool. You can also report users by utilizing Bungie’s Report Suspected Cheating article. Here is the information they are looking for:
* Display name of the “known good” player. Is this you? A friend of yours? * Display name of the suspect(s) and any other identifying info you have (clan name, Steam ID, etc.) * Explain what suspicious behavior was observed. * Note the platform the behavior was observed on. * Provide a link to the Post-Game Carnage Report (PGCR) on Bungie.net. * And if possible: * Give us links to any video evidence. This could be a YouTube video or archived Twitch stream with timestamps, a clip, or a video you have recorded and shared via a public sharing service. (Sorry, we can’t connect to your private Google Drive or OneDrive to view a video).
• Any info about any anti-cheat systems or changes/upgrades can be used to help bypass such systems. Expect no info beyond what Bungie has already said in past TWaB newsletters.

The official answer is to report all suspected cheats using in game or online tools
