I feel like D1 had more soul. All in all, it was more exciting and had more depth in my opinion. I’m not sure if that was Activisions doing or if Bungies been playing catch up for the lifespan of Destiny 2 to make up for all of Activisions over corrections? I’m not sure, let me know what you think!

All I know is that I had a lot more fun playing D1.
-
Destiny 2 overall I think is better thanks to a lot of small quality of life things. But Destiny 1 did a few big things much better. Both still have their issues though. A couple of them for me is all the pointless invisible/kill walls and the patrol map designs.

I remember I would always looking forward to doing Destiny 1. Wondering what I was going to do that day. Destiny 2 I like it but not as much as I loved Destiny 1. Ps I still play Destiny 1 from time to time

I think D1 had more character and was more fun to play but D2 is the better game. Its hard to say I haven’t played D1 in a while. But when I think about stuff like selectable nightfall difficulties, collections, more in depth stat tuning, armour 2.0, bright dust store, not having to level up every weapon you get to unlock the perks, even little stuff like clamber. there are just more QoL things in this game. But D1 was still better.

D2 has more stuff to do and has better story

1 ReplyD1. Numerous strike exclusives + skeleton keys, actual vendors, gunsmith packages, infinite-use shaders, complete sets of raid armor ornaments for every raid, factions... D1 did so many things right that were somehow stripped away from D2.

8 RepliesDestiny 2 has the vastly better pve. Destiny 1 has the vastly better PvP. Destiny 2 has vastly worse storytelling. Destiny 1 has worse graphics and game play mechanics (ie warlock jump is way better in D2 than in d1). D1 had more stuff to do that wasn't grinding xxx weapon kills on guardians in the crucible for weapon quests. D2 caters tkk heavily to no lifes and streamers. Ao, yknow, mixed bag.

3 RepliesD2 was set up to fail, thanks to it being rushed by activision. That’s why bungie is stripping out the bad content, to revamp and improve it.

1 ReplyEdited by Knightlight: 10/3/2020 6:11:19 AMI'm torn. For general pve I prefer d1. Primary weapons felt stronger and strike bosses didn't die in 3 seconds. Strikes felt more thought out and made me more invested in them. And we had strike specific loot. For pvp I'm extremely torn. So hear me out. Pvp Graphics goes to d2. The graphics are similar but d2 feels cleaner and for pvp I prefer that. For pve graphics go to d1. Planets looks go to d1. Content on Planets goes to d2. Weapons. I could write a essay on this so ill just list them off. -Auto Rifles, d1 -Pulse Rifles, d1 except for adaptive frame Scout Rifles, d1 Handcannons, d1 Sidearms, d2 Fusion Rifles, tie but probably d2 if I had to pick Shotguns, d2 Sniper Rifles, d1 Machine Guns, d1 Rockets, d1 Quality of Life. I will wait until series x. But overall quality of life goes to d2. Being able to delete from postmaster and access destinations without orbit is great. Vendors, d1 Factions, d1 Loot, d1

D1 actually looked better. Felt better too.

I like playing Destiny 2, but Destiny 1 by far was the most fun I've had in a video game

D2 by a mile. D1 started with a bang & progressively made us weaker over the years. D2 started us off weak & had us progress up, & now we're OP 98% of the time.
-
D2 looked better, ran better, felt better, has the best raids in the series apart from wotm and maybe kings fall.
-
Nostalgia and that fresh feeling.

d1 is better
