New Vex frame

So in beyond light we're shown a brand new Vex unit on Europa Now I'm fairly certain this isn't a strike boss mainly because we're only getting one new strike (RIP) and we see it in two different locations throughout the trailer Now what I want to know is what kinda frame is this do you think? It's common knowledge in the lore community that the Vex we face in game are just worker units designed to assimilate rather than annihilate, hell their "guns" are used as tools when not in combat So I wanna know what you guys think? Is this a combat unit or another worker frame? Perhaps it's something else entirely! Judging by it's one attack shown in he trailer, it seems more like a melee unit? It's a little too soon to call but what do you guys think this things actual purpose is?

  • Probably a worker frame. Those harpys look like gorgons from vog.

  • Well, let's start understanding that the Vex we faced 'til now are just workers, not optimized for true fight. Calus mentioned this during Menagerie. Now, the fact that on Europa we will meet new Vex can only mean two possible things. First possibility: they are the true warriors of the Vex. Second: they are still workers, but updated, or maybe modified in order to interact with paracausal energies like Light and Darkness. Both bear some troubling considerations. In case of the first possibility, the Vex begun to consider us worthy of the attention of their warriors. This mean that we have become a major threat to their schemes. Another way to see it is that the Vex wish to manipulate the conflict between Light and Darkness in order to better serve their end (a world without both Light and Darkness), so they sent their best to take care of the situation before it get out of control. In case of the second possibility, the Vex has begun to adapt themselves to paracausal energie, even if they cannot fully understand it. They cannot simulate it, so their improvement shall be more a field test than a solution to the problem this enigma rapresents for them. Anyway, I kindly remember that the Vex tried to simualte Guardians and study the Light. In addition, I rememeber of the Black Garden. So, actually the Vex might have developed some new sub-types while studing either us and the Darkness, or both.

      RIP Destiny 9-14-2014 to 2-18-2026 - old

Could be a different version of a supplicant from VOG , those were suicidal units and this thing looks like it turns into a missile when you get close

Vex collective were observing the guardians inside the crucible. Goblin Vex to a harpy : Goblin Vex : See, these people seems to be weak against another one of their kind being shot at them at incredible speed and strength using its arm for trajectory purpose. Harpy : Say no more.

      • I think they may be Vex units that have integrated Bray Tech into their systems, likely as test units.

        • Brass Chassis' are the major descriptor I use to differentiate the combat frames from the engineers mentioned in the book of sorrows. Crota introducing the vex to our dimension is the only lore installment I know of that refers to "combat units" and additionally it's my current belief that the vex will end up as the major villain after we deal with the darkness and savathun. once the major unknown factors, the darkness or the light primarily, is dealt with, the main vex force will have less variables they cannot comprehend and will have the confidence required to start invading our timeline/dimension. As far as I can tell, the vex are still assimilating information in our universe before dedicating any substantial forces. Terrifying to think of our battles with the vex as nothing more than encounters with the scouts and tech department. Additionally, since I've already typed this much, I believe that the converted Mercury, Nessus, and another converted celestial entity, will become the gateway the vex use to flood into our dimension.

        • Unless they dropped that aspect of the lore. I can recall but is there any D2 references to combat frames? I mean if they don’t bring them in now, with the Darkness being a major threat to them, then when? I’d hope it’s a combat frame. Even if it’s just slowly.

          • Vex harnessed some of that darkness juice, which seems to be all the rave these days, infused it into a harpy, and now have amped up grunts. I defiantly don't think it'll be a strike boss, there were a bunch of these frames beginning of the trailer, like... three? Sure, three. I'm pretty sure they just suck your face off with all those tentacles, but what do I know?
