As a long time Looter/MMO player (and Destiny too) I feel confused by the anger at sunsetting. Like, the only thing that surprised me is that it took Bungie this long to do it; I'm used to it occurring every single expansion/sometimes every major patch in other similar games.
Your old gear becoming not only unobtainable but outright useless with the release of new content is basically a staple of the genre/subtype at this point. Sunsetting in a game like Destiny is as natural as Fall coming after Summer - if it DOESN'T happen, then something has gone seriously awry.
Have so many people never played an MMO like WoW or FFXIV before? Or never played Diablo, PoE or The Division? Never played BORDERLANDS?!
New content comes out > your old gear is useless/out of date no matter how good it was before > replaced by new gear > lather, rinse, repeat.
Its the cycle of life for a game of this class.

10 RepliesThey don't think about what pro and cons sunsetting brings to the item economy, they simply overreact like kids taken away their toys. And that's the point why bungie doesn't care about the feedback here. It's only emotional overreacting.
