I play on console and controlling the recoil that handcannons possess is awful, it is really difficult to manage. Looking at PC there is little to no recoil
which atleast makes handcannons viable on that platform. However on console they really arent viable at all and they are especially unable to compete with gnawing hunger and summoner and other autos which have a faster TTK and much more forgiveness. It is very frustrating to go up against these sort of players every single game and getting outgunned constantly. Please do something to fix this and maybe itll make hand cannons a little more viable on console.

Practice! You really need to pace your shots, it took me a while to get used to 150s but once you get it down its so rewarding to outgun an AR. Start with a 140 and work your way to a 150, look for stability perks, counterbalance etc, once you get into the groove you can pretty much start using them with any perk you choose.

Either you get high burst damage with recoil, or low damage with no recoil. Pick a lane, you don't get both.

7 RepliesIt's a hand CANNON not a damn water gun it's supposed to have recoil. You ever shot a gun buddy? Geezus Christ.

No pc has recoil too It’s why I don’t like hc’s

No. It’s a big single handed short barrelled CANNON. It should have recoil. Lots and lots of recoil. On pc too.

Or, shocker here, make the entire game the exact same on every platform...I've seen people trick shot just as much with a controler on pc as they do with kb/m. I should know, I do it all the time.

If you were to use a controller on PC and console, you'd notice that recoil isn't the problem: the real problem is screen-shake. With most weapons, most noticeable on autos or SMGs, the screen shakes very harshly horizontally, which can be problematic for some players. If I were to play on a controller on PC, most of the time I don't even have to ADS to hit headshots at a reasonable distance because there's no horizontal screen-shaking. Thirdly, the 75° field of view is astoundingly terrible. It's such bad tunnel-vision and it's a shame that there's no option to change that on console. I play way better on PC just because I can have my delicious 105° XD The 30fps doesn't help either. There have been multiple tests using average gamers, and most aim significantly better at 60+fps. Just the combination of those three factors makes it harder to aim on console which is why I migrated to Steam. And I know that's not possible for everyone, so a great recommendation would be to try to get Bungie to get that god-awful shaking outta there

There’s plenty of armour mods that pretty much aim that hand cannon for players.
