Those sets are amazing, they also give a pursuit to the mode. There’s even a title to earn for the dedicated Gambiteers! Those sets even make the mode more competitive.
Everyone complains about how frequent Invaders are, yet they are making them even more frequent in Gambit Perfected. Who wants that, really?
-
Nah. I'm not going to miss grinding for the sets AGAIN because of a stupid armor sunset system.
-
9 RepliesIt is not fun to fight 4 | 20 | mote blockers.

2 RepliesWhy keep hunters without their class vanguard?
-
19 RepliesBecause there isn't going to be a "less sweaty" version of Gambit anymore. ...and playing against an organized team who are using those armor sets when you're with a matchmade team of randoms who aren't using them isn't remotely competitive. Its oppressive....and keeping them will only serve to drive Gambit player numbers even lower.
-
3 reasons: - The Reckoning was awful content and is being (Hopefully) locked away forever. - The fusion of Gambit + Gambit Prime is bringing with it a much less sweaty version then Gambit prime while keeping 1 round (Thank god) - THE invader AND collector sets can die in a FIRE I am happy.
-
1 ReplyI hated reckoning and never got the armor, this goes for the average player. If they allowed those armors in the new Gambit I would never play it.
-
Because of bad data probably. Bungie probably sees that most people play Prime without the armor. But the reason for that is you have to do the Reckoning to get the armor and the Reckoning sucks.
-
You know what most people do when they see a set or two of notorious on the other side? Quit. That's why.
-
It’s a good change. They were simply way too powerful and led to even more snowballing from stacked teams. The only way it could work is if they were only available in a competitive mode that requires a fireteam, but that isn’t happening since Bungie wants to just have a single gambit mode from now on.
-
Because their going to find a way to resell you the armor to reearn to increase grind time. Duh.
-
2 RepliesNah. Invader set is plain BS with the sheer amount of buffs it gives, half the reason to use Collector is just for Giant Blockers, and I've never seen people use Sentry or Reaper unless they're going for Reckoner.
-
If I am matched with a sort of pro gambit team I just quit anyway, makes the fame unwinnable, pointless and unfair.
-
5 RepliesWhy keep Gambit, it's a shitty game mode anyway.
-
To me they should remain. Either change them or leave them, but they should be here to stay
-
2 RepliesTwo gambit game modes doesn't really make sense, given it's not the most popular thing to do. I will admit I haven't read the gambit perfected details (I plan to soon) but if I had the choice I would vault gambit prime and keep gambit. It's so stressful. I say this as someone who has the dredgen title and is one "class" triumph away from Reckoner.

Edited by Jaybee4920: 9/12/2020 7:24:46 PMAh yes.... Cause going against someone with an invader set is fun. (Overshield buff, regenerates primary and energy ammo, locking down the bank AND drain your motes. Oh and don't forget the damage buff they get for killing Guardians.)
So fun...
The armor was a good idea, and it should remain in the game. However, the whole thing needed a rework so the armor could be earned from Gambit instead of higher tier Reckoning, which became too much of a pain for solo and duo teams.
-
1 ReplyHow does increasing the minimum cooldown for the portal from 10 seconds, to 20 seconds make invasions more frequent?
-
That's why I just stayed to Default Gambit because I knew Prime would be removed eventually and everything associated with it would be as well.
-
1 ReplyBecause they are overpowered and the new players are Snowflakes. Bunjie just wants to casualise DESTINY beyond a joke!!
-
27 RepliesThe armor sets are for the very few people that are tryhards in a game mode that almost nobody cares about. Gambit sucks. Only reason I do it is to complete my weekly bounties for bright dust and I'm out. I will literally quit mid-match every time as soon as my bounty completes. Delete the game mode and I'm happy.
-
They explained every decision in detail man.
-
2 RepliesI'm trying not to be too negative, but it sounds like they missed the boat again and are making one worst version of gambit. It's prolly hard to make these decisions when you don't play the game.
-
Because -blam!- reckoning
-
To bring balance for new players. Plus its gambage, if it were well recvd, they wouldnt be getting rid of any of it.

2 RepliesThose sets make the mode less competitive. In standard play, the advantages they provide unfairly skew matches because not everybody runs those armor sets all the time. They are potent enough (especially Invader) to where the existence of one on your team nearly assures victory against an equally skilled team. Putting on a set of armor, getting perks that mostly activate passively and require little thought to make effective, and subsequently destroying a team that has equal skill to yours is not competitive.
