It'd be nice if there was an option to choose in you're willing to join a match in progress. Some people like joining matches in progress because they get tokens or bounties completed quicker.
Personally, I don't like loading into 16 - 65 IB matches with 0 super energy.
Player choice is the best solution.

THIS needs to be an option...either enforce quitter penalties or option for opt out of JIP games. It ruins solo player experience more than others. I've had too many to count but just tonight I'm sure around 40% of my games are JIP and every single one its where players have quit versus stacked teams. Match stack teams against stack teams/give solo que option/optional JIP/quitter penalties for QP...as stupid as that sounds there are literally that many people quitting where close to half of my games are JIP. I don't want to play in a team but it's looking more and more like I'll have to just to avoid a landslide JIP every 2-3 games. Absolutely horrendous experience.

Well I have to disagree on this on. If given the choice no one would join in progress games to help out. There are plenty of games where we have lost players and man if we could just get 1 or 2 we could compete. Even times where we have won. That said there should be better match protection and joining protection or whatever we call it. If a match makes it to a certain time the game will not match new people into the game. A different mercy rule for lopsided team numbers. Or even an immediate game end if we pass a certain time and 1 team loses a certain amount of players.

1 ReplyWhat they SHOULD do is make it so if you leave any match you're blocked from matchmaking for an hour. Not a suspension until after the second game quit within 24 hours of the first.
-
Yes please!
-
They should just make a way for you to pick and choose servers for modes like in Battlefield, but also let you know which server has already started a match for whichever mode you picked. Never gonna happen, though, just a wishful thought.

3 RepliesIts just as bad as starting a strike and having to run from the beginning when the others are at the end

I think those kind of matches should end with a mercy instead of trying to put in players near end of matches. Also I don't like to be loaded in when everybody is invisable or getting super-ed to death when barely loaded into a halfway match like as it happened often back in origial Destiny. lol
-
I'd be okay with it if when you loaded into the match everything would be loaded, instead everyone in an invisible hunter. Fix that and im cool with it.

Can we do map vote/ skip too while we’re at it?

Edited by goldy411: 9/12/2020 6:20:25 AMI’m curious to what the stats are for players leaving games over the past seasons. It seems like there has been a lot more this past one.
-
Im...fairly confident most people would turn it off. Joining a match in progress is by no means any guarantee that free no trouble rewards is going to come your way and honestly the sheer lack of people who can join in progress will probably lead to matches with games of 3v5's or less and that would suck. Shit even with it on it sometimes stays like that for most of the game.
-
The experience is the same whether we join in progress, or start of match; blowout loss, or blowout win ... high quality content right there...
-
What? You don’t like getting killed by 6 supers in a row by joining a match in progress?
-
Sorry bro, that's not gonna happen, otherwise the game would fail to replace missing players and any match would be over as soon as someone leaves. Instead, Bungie should address the problem of unbalanced matchmaking in the first place, so that ppl no longer feel compelled to leave a match mid way through. As for those who are advocating bans for players leaving matches, I'll agree if and when Bungie starts to first of all ban cheaters who glitch all over the map and can snipe you through walls (you can easily spot them in a lot of Crucible and IB matches usually wearing Trials gear). Until then, I will keep leaving any match with cheaters in it without even feeling sorry about it.
-
Bungie wants the solo player to suffer; they're literally the only company that actively creates reasons to not buy their product. Like, they don't want our money apparently.
-
It would be good for people working on the milestone for crucible matches or people working on quests that have to do a set amount of matches I think it’s a good idea

Surely most people would just opt not to join in-progress matches? Chances are if you're joining a match, it's because someone left it due to losing. I mean you could farm tokens that way maybe but why? Wins are worth more and you might as well try to shoot some people in the face while you do it. Maybe if they added something where you gain a set amount of super energy when you join an in-progress match, depending on how long the match has lasted. At least this way you would feel competetive, instead of just getting steamrolled by players who already have full super and you have none. Either way, if I felt inclinced to play PVP I''d still likely opt out in-progress matches.
-
I would opt in to ONLY join matches in progress. -blam!- PvP.
-
Only issue I have with this is you almost always will NOT get credit towards daily/weekly quests or loot at the end of the match. If you are going to force people into matches like this at least give them the credit for the match or some loot for the shit show you put them into. Not sure if it is just a bug or what.

Anyone will get tired of getting domed by sweatlord supersniperelite 1337 with her 5 wall hacking girlfriends. Fix the matchmaking and people won't leave 🤷♂️

Dropped in sets you at HUGE disadvantage. No super, in time to face supers. Often texture loading invisibility for a good minute after being thrown in. Facing a very likely massive mismatch. Opt in: Earn 10 free Legendary Shards (Minimum...and I'd still opt out)

1 ReplyStrikes too. No fun loading in on the opposite end of the zone only to chase the speed running leader with no enemies to kill.
-
Nothing like hearing non stop supers as you're flying in only to get smashed as soon as you land hate the option
-
I’m tired of joining a half finished match and loading into 6 supers popping on me while I have 0 energy
-
There will be no options.... you play how Bungie wants you to play.
