And no, I don't mean Twitter, as Twitter is external.
I scrolled through more than 15 pages in the Feedback Forums. Not a single one had a "Bungie Replied" tag.
Yeah, I get they can't reply to everything, but if a thread has a 100 or more upvotes, then be a decent human being and reply to that post, as it is CLEARLY something the community cares about.
It is weird that people who don't get paid to do so will help others out on these forums, yet the community managers who get paid to do so are nowhere to be found.
A simple rule from now on: if a thread has 100 or more upvotes: reply.

They should have a website that tracks their activity on the forums.

Edited by Blackout: 9/8/2020 1:25:39 PMI haven't felt like they've been fulfilling the role of community managers for a while now, most of the stuff I see from them is basically advertising, saying what they're doing in Destiny this week and how fun all of the content was. There are also plenty of posts about how they're buying stuff from the bungie store and how awesome all of the merch is. Not much community managing, just advertising. You get the odd post on here and Reddit but as someone else has said they usually get shit on as it's often confirming the latest really poor or unpopular decision bungie have made. That's not their fault but the reality of being the public face of a company killing it's own product with incompetence.

1 ReplyEdited by DuBChiri2: 9/8/2020 5:47:25 PMPeople can talk all the shit they want about the forum, it doesn't change that actual feedback isn't getting anything either. And guess what happens when actual feedback doesn't get anything, people get frustrated. I used to create posts DAILY trying to give my feedback on things I did or didn't like and there was nothing more irritating than having hundreds of upvotes with NOTHING from them. I've only ever received a response from I think Cosmo once where I gave some feedback and he said he would pass it along to the team, which never happened in terms of adjustments (I don't remember what it was about). My point is, the longer they continue to neglect this forum, the longer they continue to give us nothing, the more frustrated and angry the forum base will be. Yes this place is filled with people who can't shut up (like yours truly) but them being SILENT isn't helping. And making an excuse for them where they don't respond because of how badly they are treated here is stupid because then they are just making it worse and giving people more reasons to be angry at them. Reddit and twitter gets some damn good explanations sometimes, this forum gets "I'll pass it along" which is something a damn bot could do and it's the most disappointing type of response you can get.

Hey!! Don't you know that Bungie won an award for Community Support In December 2019 https://thegameawards.com/nominees/community-support "Community Support Recognizing a game for outstanding community support, transparency and responsiveness." The lack of involvement from the Bungie community managers on their own forum is ridiculous. It's pretty much left to the unpaid moderators and other forum members. -
1 Reply"We'll forward this to the team" When they do respond, that's all they ever say.
-
They rather respond on other forums, the only reactions you'll see here is: We'll pass it along.

6 Repliesthey only consider reddit posts.. this forum is toxic af..

Every time I've seen someone even remotely connected to Bungie post something, it's immediately downvoted to the lowest pits of the salt mines with hundreds of the same comment. Either "FIX UR GAYME BUNGO!" or "DIS GAIM IS DED, WHY BOTHER?!?" And you wonder why they aren't here all day listening to it?

3 RepliesThey are probably too busy "protesting".

they have never been engaged with these forums, the only time they show their faces is when new content is about to drop and shortly after to let everyone know that the team is working on all of the new bugs that came with said new content. they also never shed new light on any issues with the game but merely regurgitate what most of the community already knows or has already figured out, and then there's the famous copy and paste: "we'll let the dev team know about this." Which is usually letting the dev team know that a handful of whiners want something nerfed or some super small and minor QoL update.

8 RepliesNo one wants to talk to you guys and for good reason. Have you seen the forums? It's not because of criticism, it's because of the toxicity

Edited by TJ_Dot: 9/8/2020 7:52:31 PMI boil it down to the forums being shitily designed and incredibly difficult to actually make use of. Doesn't work out with them constantly getting blown up in the hundreds of notifications any time they do anything. Also, they could really not be trying. Not like they even have to stream them playing and interacting with the community like actual humans.

8 RepliesEdited by RockNotABoulder: 9/8/2020 9:42:45 PMThis game has millions of players (not concurrently, CHRIST) . There is no reason to respond to a post that has 100 upvotes. Unless it is an actual critical issue that hasn't been said before. Granted, some people don't watch the forums 24/7. So they might not know if something they are complaining about has been asked before. But shit gets repeated on these forums. A LOT. If Cozmo or DMG04 does respond without any info (which they have no control over) they will get slapped with "YOU GUYS ONLY SAY YOU'RE LISTENING REEEEEEEE". Community Managers aren't just forum mods. They do other things like coordinating community events, advertising, ETC. Reddit has a much larger population of users, that aren't as toxic as a lot of people on here. Even then, they don't reply to reddit all the time. While there are some valid critics on the forums from time to time, it doesn't make much sense to waste time here.
-
If you think about it in terms of a 40 hour per week job and that posting takes 5 min, there really isn't a valid reason why Bungie's community managers are always AWOL.

And no, I don't mean Twitter, as Twitter is external.
I would also add reddit given they seem to be active there as well. I guess Cozmo has a hard time letting go his previous life as the creator of the DTG subreddit and Dylan seems to addicted to Twitter since he has been very active talking about all of his accomplishments as a player. I'm starting to wonder if Bungie should just pull a Bioware and shutdown the forums..

"A simple rule from now on: if a thread has 100 or more upvotes: reply." Or in some cases don't. Because some upvotes are from people with no sense about the game in it's wider concerns.
-
2 RepliesThis forums purpose isn't to discuss about feedback since you rarely see quality feedback here. It's to keep the "I quit because this game sucks" and "Bungie sucks and this game is garbage" posts here so quality feedback is found on reddit. Positive and Negative feedback is needed. Negative feedback on this forum is more emotional whining instead of "feedback".

The few posts I have seen them reply to, they get totally shit on. I don't blame them for not replying.
