I would like to be able to toggle my Ghost's flashlight myself instead of him deciding when I need to see in the dark. Wondering as to why something like this hasn't been implemented yet?

This would be so nice right now. Festival lighting has turned lost sectors (like The Drain) and tunnels into Resident Evil lighting. Cool and all, but it's frustrating that you can't see what you're jumping at and running blindly into walls trying to get through spaces (Zero Hour). I keep getting turned around thinking "Yay! I got through. Ah... nope, this is where I started."
-
Just another old request that never saw the light unfortunately.
-
Definitely would come in handy in dark areas when the ghost flashlight doesn't always trigger, Halo had one you could trigger manually
-
That is way too much for bungie to do.
-
Aye, it was requested since D1 beta.
-
Welcome to 2014.
-
This requirement as been asked since the beginning of Destiny and it's weird it's not there
-
1 ReplyHonestly. Bungie doesn't know how to optimize the game for HDR properly so dark areas, a hell of a lot darker than their supposed to be for my TV and I have to shoot and grenade a spot to light up.

Edited by Wanderer: 9/8/2020 12:59:47 AMThat would be really neat. And then stuff like messages or clues in the environment that react to flashlight can be done. I bet there is way tons of trippy things that can be done. Like enemies that can only be made visible when a special flashlight is shone on them.
-
2 RepliesI'd settle for the little shit knowing when it's dark enough to light his little damn ass up at all.
-
My work around is to always have an emote equipped that I use as a flashlight such as petting the chicken or sword duel. But yes ghost constantly fails in one of its few functions. Shoot for the moon and ask for a dead reckoning North arrow on our radar map too.
-
They’re probably going to monetise it like one flashlight costs 800 silver
-
Bump for mighty -blam!-ing need.
-
1 ReplyMaybe I'll finally stop getting lost in random corners of the moon!
-
Agreed. Our Ghost (who probably is going away so Bungle doesn't have to pay for a voice actor ) is pretty well useless now, so at least we could swap it for a FlashLight as in Fallout 4 / 76 etc.
-
4 RepliesYou know what’s a better question? How can people act like this is an impossible task when plenty of online and offline games for decades have had exactly what you are describing?
-
Ghost fleshlight 😫
-
Bungie: we cant help with this specific request because programming is hard. But what we can do is ensure that when you bring out the ghost it shows what’s on sale in the Eververse store every time.
-
Because then we'd be able to see where we're going during the Ascendant Challenge, and what fun is that?
-
Some of the emotes emit quite a bit of light when you use them, so sometimes I use those as a stopgap if I'm in a really pitch-black area and I've lost my bearings. Ironically, the emote where your Guardian puts on sunglasses to protect their eyes from outside light seems to work the best. This must be some sick joke from Bungie...

5 RepliesEdited by FdYAcsoyPKN83gLE: 9/8/2020 2:54:43 AMHow would you toggle it?

1 ReplyEdited by Trafalgar_Lou: 9/8/2020 12:03:58 PMTrying to think of a time this would be useful. I get it in large open world games where there are dark caves or large forests with secrets to be found but this is destiny....out ghost lights up whenever it’s intentionally dark and any other time lighting is normally provided. Just couldn’t see me turning my ghosts flashlight on to go into tiny wee cave that all the destinations have to find a chest with some blue gear and materials lol. The open worlds would have to be allot bigger. I always use my fire torch in Witcher 3 because it’s so useful to see in large open fields when it’s dark or deep forests. You can get from one side of an area in destiny to the other in seconds ahah, think I know every nook and cranny after about 10 minutes in a zone

1 Replyso another button/key to map? no thanks.

Fle- yes Flashligh...

1 ReplyEdited by WHISKEYJ0HNNY0: 9/8/2020 6:02:02 AMFunny I was just thinking of this. We harness “the light” but we can’t even illuminate a dark hallway....

Another exhausting technical challenge along with custom waypoints on maps.
