2020 solstice armor is a trash grind
Don’t get me wrong the armor looks amazing for each and every class plus with its light level boosting us up to 1050 is even better but the grind for it is just ridiculous. I just finished the last step for Eva’s quest and was greeted with my armor being reset to how I got it befo wit only like 1 energy for each piece and all the mods removed on it as well. So basically all my materials I put on each piece has gone to waste and left me wit a total disdain for this armor. In my opinion the armor is great but it’s a totally unnecessary grind especially in the fact after you finish Eva’s quest you don’t even get the glow you HAVE to do a whole bunch of other steps which is of course not particularly hard (unless you’re like me a person that has no one to play the game with so you can’t do the pit of Hersey or a master nightfall alone) but is completely unnecessary. All I want is my materials returned and myself satisfied. Bungie the hell are you doing wit this bs.

This is pretty much all Bungie’s activity designers know to do anymore. The same bounties, same steps, same “mad-libbed” requirements. And still people just eat this shit up like they’re doing us a favor.

I just got to the magnificent sets then bought one ornament set with the bright dust then flexed my wallet for the other ...might do warlock it doesn't take that long and masterworking gear never really mattered to me because casual trash ...but hard-core casual trash lol

I feel for solo guys in this mode. The armor is a 1/3 drop, and most random groups can barely manage 8 boxes in a run. Hell, 6 seems to be the solo que average, which equates to 2 armor drops from boxes per average run 😂. Playing with my team we can comfortably get 12 or more, so we average around 4 boxes with armor. Then we need to hope its Nat 60 armor, with a nice stat distribution. Crap, repetitive mode with a strangle on decent drops. Realised this week 1.

3 RepliesThe grind wasn't bad for me up until Magnificent. All the requirements to make the armor shiny are activities that I've either never done, or am not really good enough to do. I could conceivably get everything with a fireteam finder, but the Trials wins is a write off for me. I know I'm not really that great at PvP and i doubt that any team would let me join them for Trials. Basically, I doubt I'll ever get the shiny armor.

Every solstice grind is pointless. Notice show every year they want you to regrind it? Just so next year this years gear will be obsolete? LoL I’m definitely not wasting my time with that garbage when it’s getting SunSetted in a year....

armor resetting was mentioned within the first like 3 days. Some people fully MW'd the majestic set expecting it to unlock the glows, then found out (as if it wasn't mentioned a million times) there is a set after that that has separate glow objectives Honestly the grind wasn't too bad, I finished all characters in the first week playing pretty casually just completing bounties. The worst part is the method to obtain random rolls of the magnificent armor, and the garbage EaZ area which Bugo didn't bother to change in any way, not even loot from chest or loot from packages

3 RepliesI did it for my Titan, but gave up on my others, I'm been trying to slowly ween off the game. I hopped back into Warframe, and started playing indie games on gamepass, it's been a better experience across the board.

Yeah just get the ornament, I did and I'm actually very pleased with it. I glow 😁

Literally just do the blue armor then you can spend bright dust on the ornaments. Way better than any other year.

1 ReplyIm so glad solstice is over. Hope it never comes back. The grind is worthless because they just gave out the ornaments for it anyways. And im tired of collecting solstice key fragments on everything i do in the game, to be only able to use it in the EAZ, for a low reward chest, that you have to earn 49 times just to get 1 weekly powerful ingram. Im sitting on 4.5k solstice fragments for no reason. Thanks for not making the solstice season worth my time bungie.

Bro, just get the ornaments. Then you will be able to wear the armor whenever you want, with the stats you want. That's what I did.
