I'm looking to try Warframe on pc. What are it's hardware requirements, and how much time should I expect to be able to sink in it?

You have to wait literal days to craft most things. And you have to grind "mastery rank" just to use better weapons. How do you do that? Grind the shitty weapons you start with and make by leveling them up to progress. Warframe is better characterized as Wargrind.

It’s a fun game, but it’s business model is designed around being super-grindy so that people who don’t have endless amounts of time to play are tempted to spend money to buy their way around it. I stopped playing after grinding for two days to get what I needed for my pet, only to be told it would take three real-world days to incubate it...., ....but I could have it right away for 5 platinum... Had a few choice swear words. Turned off the game and walked.

It’s not that bad for small things, but trying to get everything this game has to offer is a colossal effort. Crafting warframe components and warframes will make you wait for literal days to finish, and you will have to unlock more planets to have access to more materials to craft stuff or access missions to grind. You sometimes have to finish quests, missions, or tasks to access said planets. Primed gear components drop from completing missions with void relics, and it’s random numbers by random numbers. Save the platinum you have for weapon or warframe slots if nessesary because those are the only things can’t grind to get, along with some cosmetics. Also, gear provided from freely redeemable codes and promotional stuff is a big help when getting started.

You can spend some real cash (P2W) on gear slots to cut the grind down a bit. Either way a lot of stuff is time gated sometimes taking days to craft. Basically 100s-1000s of hours of grinding a lot of the same thing over and over.

It’s super pay to win And a little Grindy depending on what your grinding for

1 ReplyIt's not that grindy.

... You know that Greek myth about the guy who had to spend all eternity moving a rock up a hill only for it to roll back down? Warframe is the equivalent of that...
not included in the DLC
-
Hahahahahahahahaha... I wait three days for a multiple material to be built for gun that takes another three days. Good news is I don't play in weekdays so it's always good to get my sh1t together on Sunday if I can. Or you can trade... that's neat.
-
It isn’t too bad but just remember that if you want a new weapon or frame, then you’ll need to wait anywhere from 12 hours to 3 days.
-
Grindy as hell but once you get a good weapon and warframe build it wont be as bad
-
Incredibly grindy. If you’d like to take away 75% of the grind, either grind for high value gear, learn prices and become a master of trading or open your wallet and throw money at the screen. And you’re restricted by Mastery Rank to make the grind still pretty damn bad even if you do decide to pay through the grind or trade through it.

1 ReplyThe last tine i played warframe, i plugged in about 50 hours and i still didn't know what the -blam!- was going on in that game, so expect your playtime to be in the hundreds at least.
