Warlock’s damage resistance during super

Is almost non-existent. This will be a PvP post just so we’re clear. Two shots from an adaptive frame fusion rifle can put any of us using Daybreak six feet down. Auto rifles? Hose us down and that’s that. Among other easy ways to kill us. My point here is that our damage resistance during super either needs to be increased OR there needs to be adjustments done to make them more effective. Here’s a list of issues and proposed changes: * Daybreak - projectiles are slow, don’t guarantee a OHK on impact, the super itself leaves us vulnerable to easy damage while we’re in the air - Changes: faster projectiles, increased projectile damage * Stormtrance - slow movement speed, too much consumed energy while using Ionic Blink, tic damage allows easy countering, Dodge can break connection -Changes: increase range of lightning, increase damage and/or add a concussive effect while being hit which will slow opponents movement speed * Nova Warp - slow movement speed, blast radius too small, charge time too slow, Warp requires too much energy -Changes: increase blast radius, allow normal movement speed while charging, increase damage based on how long you hold the blast, decrease super energy used per Warp With these changes in mind you would not need to increase damage resistance during a super. It’s that simple. No increase in super time; just adjustments to make them better.

  • Alright lets go over all three classes PVP wise and discuss how to properly use them in situations. Dawnblade: in pvp you should only be using top tree no exceptions. It is the best tree and most user friendly. The super is also incredibly fast and the double dodge makes this subclass the fastest subclass in the game with the highest mobility in the game. When using it use the dodge the close the gap using a boost dodge boost dodge boost trick. You hityour boost, immdiately hit dodge, hit boost again and dodge again. You will lose no momentum and go far fast. As for the super don't float in the air constantly. Keep moving. Boost drains energy but not enough that it hurts you in any meaningful way. Stay mobile. Lear you track targets are get in their face and chuck a single blade of death at them. Nova Warp: Astrocyst Verse. Astrocyst Verse. ASTROCYST VERSE. Use blink warp. While top dawn is the fastest in nuetral game, Nova Warp is literally the fastest super in the game with Astrocyst Verse blink. Get close by blinking and warping. Blink warp blink warp blink warp. If you learn how to pace the blinks you will never run out of blink. Also the blast radius while fully charged is much bigger than you think. Fully charged you would be suprised. Stormcaller: shouldn't be using any stormcaller classes in pvp. Stormcaller is a trash mob vacuum. That being said use ionic blink not to rush down but to avoid shots and confuse the enemy. Shock and blink. Stormdancers brace is perfect in pvp. Kill one enemy and you kill the next one quicker and so on and so forth. Also remember the longer you hold the shock the more damage it does. Stormcaller requires a high level of thought before use. How many enemies, are they aware, yada yada. Just rmember top tree chains more and your grenade if 3 people are together is a guaranteed kill due to the chain damage. Armor means very little if you know how to work around it. It is what makes titans and warlocks the best class in the game. While they take a bit more thought process to use, theyare single handedly the best classes in the game when you figure them out

      • Golden gun: No damage resist, normal movement speed Blade barrage: no resist, no aim assist, can’t even kill a super with all knives hitting Tethers: good luck hiring anyone, you’ll die as you cast it Arc staff: unreliable aim assist, normal movement speed, almost 0 damage resist Titan: Literally invincible during any super, supers last 10 minutes Cry harder

        • Never use warp during nova warp super. Blink can cover ground if used correctly and doesn't cost super energy. If used with Astrosyte verse even better. But I would agree we are way too vulnerable during supers.

        • all warlock trees have more damage reduction then solar and void subclasses of hunters and equal to for arc. So your upset for being the second most tanky class choice while super is active. Stick your head in the sand more pls as the nerf squad will be coming for top tree dawn blade soon. Same for wormhusk and adaptive autos.

            • As a titan main, I do think that mid tree storm-caller needs a damage resistance buff considering you a essentially a sitting duck

              • If anything chaos reach needs more resistance, it only lestsfour seconds, most likely you'll be up in the air becausethere is no other way to have a chance at getting people around cover, you can barely move at all in super, plus your basically blinding yourself when you use it. Not to mention, it does 92 damage per tick, and that doesn't make sense with a 4 second super.

              • No. Warlocks have decent resist in super, its just that the supers arent good, excluding daybreak. Supers shouldnt really have much damage resist at all. Daybreak is completely broken when it isnt bugging out too.

                • “Two shots from an adaptive fusion can down a dawnblade” You are literally complaining about being killed in 2 shots by a fusion.... That has a 660ms charge time And 17m range before damage drop off.... While using a super that can move 70mph 30m off the ground while raining tracking OHK projectiles down upon people... Suggestion: Put your helmet on, and get back in your cage. This is why we don’t let the smooth brains dictate PvP balance.

                      I dont understand the hate on this post? You provided criticism and should get likewise replies. Anyway i agree with only one part of this since most of what you wrote appears to be bad super placement. Personally im not a good pvp player but over six years i have learned that supers literally depend on the timing and placement when used. What i agree on though is that the ionic blink in stormcaller shouldnt burn that much super energy, and dawn blade needs a slight hitbox adjustment but other than that supers are almost in a good place rn.

                        • Just going to stop you dude. No we don’t need anymore of the supers having super armor. Leave it alone. If you get taken down by more attentive players then you get taken down. It’s how it goes. You can’t win them all and have to pick your battles wisely. Most supers are meant to be trunk cards to get an easy kill. If you pop your super in front of the entire enemy team yea expect to get killed. If you pop it away from them well they can hear it why know your coming and are ready for you. You have to basically play possum and have your team ready to move with you when you go to use your super so they can lay down fire and get them to not focus on you. It’s about our thinking your opponent instead of wanting super armor because you suck at timing. If you can’t do that then stop playing pvp because I’ll be the first to tell you no you don’t need more resistance while using a super. Bad part is I dont play the game anymore and I can tell you that.

                          1st of if you let the guy fire fusion twice at you while in super thats you problem 2nd what makes you think most mobile supers in the game with teleports and dashes combined with their tracking or just needing to aim in general direction to chain kills should have more dmg resistance 3rd your ideas are bs because you are in super that doesnt mean you should have free insta kills w,o any worry of dying or work put into it.

                        • I agree with the most part, but I have one nitpick with the post Nova warp, especially with astrocyte+blink, is [i]fast as hell[/i] The super could use a slight buff, but it's biggest issue is the piss poor neutral game

                            Normally you’ve got some pretty fair criticisms Gob, but.... the Warlock roamers have similar super damage resistance as every other class. They don’t need more. Dawnblade should guarantee a kill on impact, Storm shouldn’t stop damage when an enemy dodges, and Warp needs retooling, but not like that.

                            • Dawnblade really just needs better hitboxes/hit detection. There have been times where I hit someone who's backed into a wall point blank with a blade only for it to do 73 damage. The armour is fine but when I hit someone with the super they need to take the full damage.

                            • Just being the devils advocate but if you can’t kill someone in the amount of time it takes them to fire a fusion twice that’s on you. It appears your segueing that roaming supers should be able to charge into groups of the other team and kill them all one by one while they all shoot you. Every time I get killed out of my super it’s my fault. Learn to choose your engagements and maybe you won’t feel so weak.
