D1 v D2 Crucible

Got bored yesterday doing the D2 grind and fired up D1 ran around Mars looking for the Europa scene that looks like Mars rebadged(did not find it) then decided to do some Crucible. What a difference to the D2 experience, matches were balanced and the lead continually changing. Absolutely mind boggling that after another two years of experience Bungie still cannot do a good as job as they did on D1 Also the maps seemed so much better.

  • I’ve played both and D2 is definitely better than D1, D1 has great things, the taken king, rise of iron, but it was only meant to be a beginning stage for the game they wanted, which is destiny 2, and you can tell by the overall game graphics, story and overall movement

    • D1was a game built for pve that had pvp tacked onto it. D2 was a game built to be an e-sport and failed miserably. As long as this game forces pvp and pve to share the same sandbox and abilities, it’s pvp will never be balanced. Because balancing it would destroy the pve side of the game.

      • D1 = quality D2 = quantity. D1 was built with love, passion and with direction. D2 was built to capitalise on the success of d1 and milk the players dry for as long as possible

        • Both are horrendous. Only time PvP was ever "good" was vanilla D1.

        • They don't want balance. They think balance doesn't sell. The theory is that if you keep making a new OP weapon, then all the kids rush into pvp to use it. As people start to get fed up, they simply nerf that one and make another one a bit more powerful and the cycle begins again.

        • D2 pvp feels like it's supposed to be played on PC with console as a afterthought. I like the slower mobility of d1. This makes it so the ttk doesn't have to be so low. 600 autos do 20 to the head but are still good in d1. Primary weapons feel more balanced in the sense you can use more types and still do good. In d2 you need to use 150 HC, 600 auto or a 340 pulse. Any other type puts you at a disadvantage. The only issue with d1 Primary wise is 360 pulses feel weak. Just increase the rate of fire to 390 and they'll be fine. Also 140 hc should be 2 crit 1 body instead of 1 crit 2 body. I like how flinch works in d1, it doesn't move the redical over the targets head. Also if they made it so you spawned in with 1 special round instead of 0 that would be good. Overall I just enjoy d1 pvp more.

          • You can't ask players to play the same pvp for 4 to 8 years... People just get used to how it works and get reeealy good at it. This doesn't happen if you get a new game every 3 years maybe.

          • What do you mean, d1 crucible is buggy, slow, and unbalanced as hell. Even more so than d2

          • D1 has moments where it shines in crucible. I’ve played a lot of both it and D2 crucible but even still I’m just not much of a PvP guy, I only really play when I am forced to for a certain reward. For example, only started playing iron banner in D1 because the first few years of warlock armor were terrible and the IB armor still to this day looks amazing.

          • I am sorry but how is D1 AoT PvP better? They butchered the PvP with the special ammo changes. I would rather have D2’s current PvP than that.
