"You can still use your sunset gear in old activities", they said. "You can still use it in old raids", they said. "You can still use it in pAtRoL zOnEs", they said.
They pretty much vault all of that content and will probably raise the softcap to 1200 soon, even on the small amount of "old" activities that will be left after them pretty much deleting everything thats left in Destiny 2.
Not that that would matter anyways, since vets and long time players mainly care about end game.
Bungie, you could at least be straight with us and name the devil. ALL of our sunset gear will soon be useless in 95 % of the games content, that most players participate in. Not only that, everything we acquire in the future will have that expiry date in the neck aswell. CONSTANTLY. Nice looter shooter. These types of games are usually catered to perfectionists (stat/roll wise) and ppl who enjoy collecting things. Destiny is becoming more of a call of duty which resets annualy from now on. Know your community, Bungie. We do not want that. Freshen up the meta naturally.
Also, people will straight up leave stuff behind after 3 months, not only annualy, because people will constantly chase the stuff that will be available for the longest time. This means Fomo will be at its peak. This constant gear rush will drive more and more players away. You see it rn with the dire promise situation. People will only use the stuff with the longest "expiry date". Spare Rations at this moment could still be used but literally NOONE does because it expires soon.
This concept sucks.
