Trying to level up this gear because Bungie is sun setting my old set of armor. This leg piece needs 7 Trials wins. Some of us don’t play Pvp. Much less a highly competitive pvp mode. Then on top of that the sweaty players come in and reset trials cards to boost their K/D against these poor souls just trying to enjoy a game. This is forcing 2 different groups of players to interact in a very negative way. I respect those pvp gods and it’s a great way to level up your kd. This isn’t a rant on you guys. I’m trying to show the devs they are pissing off a large group of people.

23 RepliesDid those of you telling the OP to get gud even read the post? The point is not a complaint against having to complete a specific task. That is an EXAMPLE used to reinforce the message of the title. Why should anything be a negative experience, and I will add, when playing a -blam!-ing video game? Ask yourselves why do we have to play 10 gambit matches? Why isn't it, collect pinnacle engrams from two different activities? Why is it 10 trials wins for the glow? Why not, complete one of these(centered on different activities) season of arrivals triumphs? So, the initial complaint, or question is valid. Why do the devs not put more thought into the fact that there are multiple types of players? Why don't they create challenges that cater to each group? Why not give people options as to how to complete tasks? IMO, the answer? They are not good a designing content. Game looks great, plays great, is about as deep as a puddle when it comes to content.

23 RepliesI hear you. Its one of the MANY problems that Bungie creates for themselves, the game, and for the player base with their need to micromanage play.... ...and pressure people into playing parts of the game that they dont' want to play. Bungie seems to have this fairy-tale notion that they'll "expose" people to parts of the game they normally wouldn't play, and the player will walk away feeling good about the experience. When the reality is that the vast majority of the time its a neutral-to-negative experience....and the player walks away annoyed at best.......angry and resentful at worst.

Oh look, another sad post about trials. Yawn...

Some of us don’t play Pvp
And when some of us only play half of the game they might have to leave some rewards behind.
-
1 ReplyI mean, if your goal is to replace old armor, you can try umbrals, easy peasy no drama needed
-
2 RepliesBungie doesn't try to sell this game to gamers. It tries to sell it to investors by showing how brainwashed the community is.

Edited by Oddball: 9/1/2020 7:10:46 PMThey are sadistic elitists. I bet they have tons of fun with the game. Given the current creative dir. its obvious that they embrace the toxic sweaty try hard nature of pvp. I believe I have seen Smith literally say git gud in response to these sorts of complaints.

Because bungie gets off on it.
-
The trials wins was a shot to the balls.
-
Simple solution. Don't do it. It's just a Glow. Nothing more nothing less. If you want the glow.....find 2 good Players and do it. Saturday I LFG 2 kids, we got 6 wins in 1 afternoon. There are good players out there.
-
That glow armor is overrated anyway. Why would I want to look like everyone else?
-
You just suck
-
bungie realy -blam!- up when they give us trials back destiny 2 isn't a competetive game and pvp is not balanced enought.
-
I do agree with requiring the trials wins. But my biggest issue with your argument is this: you start by saying wanting to upgrade the armor because your old armor is being sunset. But completing the armor glow does nothing for access to the armor.
-
I had a problem with this step until I realized it's all cosmetic. Then I didn't have much of a problem with it, espcially since the boots glow is bad on every class.

4 RepliesEdited by Kouz_MC: 8/31/2020 3:30:08 PMWhy would you even get to that objective? For a trash white glow? Yeah right. I only feel sorry for the people who spend their playtime completing all these objectives. That’s not to mention that the EAZ is a boring recycle, and all the objectives are so braindead it’s almost an insult to players. In fact obtaining 7 wins in trials is probably the only rewarding and exciting objective on the list.

They haven't got to be in a row, they haven't even got to be on the same card, hell they don't even have to be the same weekend. Trials is active 4 days out of the week, and the event is active for 4 weeks. If you can't manage 7 wins in 16 days then I'm sorry but you just plain and simply don't deserve the glow. You think PvP players like being made to run 10 gambit games? You think we like being made to do strike kills? No, no we do not. But we're not filling the forums with whinging posts about it. We just got the -blam!- on with it and did it if we wanted the armour. Either do the same, buy the colourful glow, or shut up and go without.

3 RepliesDon't bother, get the glowy set off Eververse, you should have the Dust for it.

A very honest and inoffensive post, unfortunately their is a mindset of apathy or outright hostility towards others who don’t want to play (insert activity here). Quests since D1 year 1 have attempted to force you to play all the game has to offer regardless of how the players felt about the concept. If they were truly interested in creating a game where the player was able to play how they wanted then this wouldn’t even be a conversation we’d be having. My assumption is they funnel people into gambit, strikes/nightfalls, crucible, and everything else because if left alone people would realize without being forced to do it the content itself isn’t really enjoyable and the player count for certain activities would plummet. For example, how many of us would play trials on our own after this event fiasco? How many of us would grind strikes and nightfalls or bounties every week if it didn’t promise the opportunity to raise a useless number that will be even more useless when the next DLC is released. They haven’t found a way to make us play beyond gaining strength and then continually losing it. So we are stuck with a game trying to cycle the entire player base to all the activities it has to offer whether we wanted it or not...

Honestly. Most things that involve the word "grinding" aren't going to be fun. Which I know is how some of you guys need like to play the game. But trust me it'd be way more fun for you guys if you just turned it down and played the game for some fun every once and a while.
-
1 ReplyAnother PvE cry baby because PvP got some attention. How -blam!-ing difficult is it to get 7 non straight wins. Answer. Not that hard and I'm a 0.8 KD. If this was a PvE complaint from a PvP player you'd all be singing a different tune. It's 7 wins. Not flawless. You want that glow that bad go get it. If not then no glow. Simple.
-
If you think about it last three seasons all you paid for was a chance to grind gear to rent for a year until it’s sunset.
-
You only need the trials wins for the glows no? You must of had arrivals armour you can swap out with your old gear to make it futureproof by now, Shirley.
-
Pointless grinding and an overabundance of FOMO. That's all this game is now.
