Returning to Destiny 2, characters reset?
Hi, I'm returning to Destiny 2 to play with a friend who's new. I updated the game, opened it, and accepted the cross-play pop-ups on PS4 without thinking it might affect my account as I only play on one platform. It seems as though all my characters have been reset. All their gear appears to be gone (despite being unlocked in collections), and when I selected my titan, the game opened the first scene of the game instead of the hub.
Is there any way to recover all of my cosmetic items and gear? If I disable cross-play will my old items return?

I just came back after so long and after linking my account it made me restart my character as well. I don’t understand why it would make me replay the whole campaign

1 ReplyAs your platform account info is not shown on your Bungie profile, perhaps due to your chosen privacy settings, we cannot view your info to see your game history. Without being able to review your info, such as individual character game history, it is difficult to provide accurate info. If your character(s) did not complete the Red War campaign prior to the New Light update last fall, then their progress in that campaign would have been reset. The new intro mission is where all characters start, if they did not previously complete the Red War. If you only played the game in the first few months that it was out, and deleted some of your gear, then those items would not have been recorded for Collections, which was implemented at the launch of Warmind. There is also the possibility that you may be remembering Destiny 1 gear or progress, rather than Destiny 2. Again, without being able to review your game history, we can only provide basic info on what your situation may be.

1 ReplyAs you don't play on any other platforms you did not need to activate cross save. This is strange as to cross save you need 2 platform's accounts on your Bungie.net account and to authenticate them... you have none linked. You can try deactivating but remember there is a 90 day cool down if you want cross save in the future.
