Is anyone else having these problems?
I have been experiencing "Attention: Contacting to destiny 2 servers" for two days now flashing at the bottom of my screen. It is random. But it is consistent enough to be happening every min or two. I am also getting in-game inventory lag. When moving an inventory item or turning in bounties the screen and game freezes for a few seconds (3-5) and then completes the turn in of that bounty with a slowed sound and animation.
What have I checked.
It is happening on my PS4 and my PC. Both of these are on different networks, but using the same ISP. I have tested my ISP connection on 5 different computers and 2 PS4's. I have checked all cables, all connections all hardware. I have rebooted all hardware. I have run the "rebuild" database on the PS4's.
I have contacted my ISP and they have zero reported problems for my area. Also because my service is running correctly they are telling me it is not them.
I am now reaching out here on the forums looking for some assistance because it is making it very hard to play the game under these circumstances.
@bungie, @bungiehelp please help me. You are my only hope.
Edit: So to clarify my problem.
1) When selecting a vendor, a quest, a bounty, when turning in a quest or bounty, when moving an inventory piece, when in any part of your inventory, when moving something to or from the vault, when do anything within the game, it causing the message "contacting destiny servers".
The lag or latency period is between 1-5 seconds delay of any action.
2) When playing any event or participating in anything that the game has to provide an award. Opening a chest, receiving loot from a boss drop, or a strike completion. When trying to pickup an engram of any quality, when trying to pick up motes in gambit or any other event. All of these actions create a lag spike and then also get me the "contacting destiny 2 servers".
3) When being anywhere idle for more than 30-45 seconds. I get the message "contacting destiny servers".
4) When I am being revived, when landing or being transmat from my ship to a destination. I appear but am frozen in place, sometimes complete and sometimes pixelated. This lasts for 1-5 seconds.
5) When logging into (before choosing my character) Destiny 2 on any platform, I get the message "contacting Destiny 2 servers".
Edit: I am now (today 08/28/20) receiving "Honeydew" errors as well.
Edit: I am also now (today 08/28/20) receiving "anteater" errors as well. Along with that my crucible playlist credit/rewards are not making progress.
Edit: Anything that is a matchmade playlist tracking reward (Crucible, Gambit, Strikes) is not tracking when playing those activities. When playing crucible mayhem (6 games) I have zero credit for games played.
Edit: Solstice armor multiplier credit on 2nd and 3rd sets. I am not getting credit on the majestic armor for having any other armor sets done. So the armor credit when doing activities requires shows as if it is my first set of armor.
Edit: I have uninstalled the game from my PC and then reinstalled it on my PC and the same problem still exists.
Edit: I have reinstalled on my PC through Steam and I am encountering the same problems. I also uninstalled and reinstalled on my PS4. I am still encountering the same problems on that platform as well.
@bungie @bungiehlep please help me. You are my only hope.

Did you ever have a solution to this problem I am currently experiencing the same issues.

Any updates? I am having the same issue currently and I can’t tell if it’s just Destiny 2. Every other game I play I don’t have any issues. But what makes me think it might be my Internet is because as soon as I got a new modem the problems started, but why is it that every other game doesn’t have any lag issues? I have a tech guy coming out Saturday but I’m gonna feel real stupid if it’s just destiny 2 servers being dumb.

1 ReplyHey there! If you keep receiving multiple error codes and have exhausted every solution, you need to contact your ISP again. But this time, you need to be playing Destiny 2 while you are on the phone with them. When you receive an error code, that will help them troubleshoot the problem. Also, I would suggest to replace any old equipment as that could also be the problem.

I am still having the same continued issues. Does anyone know how to get actual help from Bungie? As I have been watching these forums for more than a week now, I feel like they are just a place people post things that never get help or a fix. Does Bungie actually respond? @bungiehelp @bungie @A_dmg04
