Recently I purchased a copy of Destiny: The Collection for PS4 to just get all of the DLC in one go. The thing is I prefer physical copies of games for many reasons that don't matter for the sake of this post. The problem here is that the expansions that I bought the game for are a download code that has since expired. I had no knowledge of the expiration date when I grabbed the sealed game and now that its opened I can't return it. Because of this I effectively just bought a game I already owned a digital copy of and didn't get the sole reason I purchased it. I contacted Sony support after seeing that the code will show me which expansions are part of it and ask me if I would like to redeem them only to then get a message saying to try again later. after 3 hours of waiting and 4 agents (the last of which was a supervisor) Sony said there is nothing they could do about it since it is a third-party game so there isn't anything that can be done on their end. and to contact the publisher. The publisher on the case is Activision who no longer handle this game (I get all of that and it is beside the point) so I came here only to learn there aren't any kind of support tickets or anything and only a forum. So I have a worthless extra copy of the game? Great! So I went into the store to see about getting the expansions separately only to find out that I can't even purchase Rise of Iron standalone on PSN... That means I'm being forced to purchase A THIRD COPY OF THE GAME to get an expansion that I already paid for... that the code brings up is right there... I can't. Is there anything at all that can be done about this? Can a new code be generated? Can I at least get these for a reasonable price and not spend $60 on something that's been out for like 4 years that I already own parts of? This is incredibly frustrating after buying the game day 1 and then again recently and not even being able to return it after effectively getting bamboozled by something I had no idea about. Any help of any kind would be appreciated...

4 RepliesHi there! The codes for all physical copies of Destiny: The Collection would have expired. These codes were generated by the platforms and have an expiration date on them. The only thing you can do at this point is to request a refund from the retailer where you made the purchase. The only valid location where you can obtain the collection at this point is your platform's digital storefront.

Unfortunately, your only option is to get a refund from the store where you made the purchase, as they sold you an expired product. Bungie does not generate or distribute codes, so they cannot give you one.
