THIS IS GETTING RIDICULOUS, 7th CLOAK IN A ROW
got my 7th cloak IN A ROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know Bungie doesnt care about this, and only the Bungie "defender" (I would call them differently but I dont want this be deleted) will actually reply but,
COME ON BUNGIE, HOW THE HELL DO YOU EXPECT PEOPLE TO KEEP GRINDING WHEN YOU KEEP GETTING THE SAME SLOT PINNACLE OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN????????
I wouldnt mind getting Pinnacles for slots that I already have a higher level item but NOT THE SAME SLOT AGAIN AND AGAIN.
PS: I wont even waste my time with negative or Bungie "defenders" replies, so dont waste yours.

Imagine if you only needed ONE SLOT to be 1060 and it gives you everything but that one slot! For a whole month now!!! That's me. I feel your pain and anguish, OP. I hope they enact a little more "duplicate protection" or "bad-luck protection" soon. We can only hope. Don't hold your breath though.

My gear rank is 1059, all I need is a heavy, helmet, chest, and gauntlets. But I keep getting cloaks and boots with the occasional primary or energy. I've been this way for 3 weeks now.

1 ReplyThere've been weeks when I received nothing but Pinnacle energy weapons across all my characters. The fact that we can't at minimum pick between weapons and armor is bad enough; it's doubly worse when your highest slot as well as the same slot is repeatedly targeted over and over again. Plain and simple RNG needs to be addressed but unfortunately, I simply don't see that happening.

2 RepliesI stopped caring about gear that I wanted, and just accepted the loot system as a low priority bonus. I've been happier for it. I know this approach probably doesn't work for gear collectors, but it works for me.

Eventually I got all three characters to 1060/1080, but the dups did lend themselves to a lot of annoyance. Statistically, if you are seeking a gear piece, try to find a way to do Prophecy and The Pit every week, since they only drop gear. It’s sort of a slog, but you will get that missing piece. Based on my own drops, my sense was that RNG is weighted so that the Gambit, Crucible and Strike pinnacles are more likely to produce weapons (which may be to compensate for the exclusive gear drops from the dungeons), with what seemed to be a strong numerical advantage to kinetic and energy weapons. The Interference, clan, 100k NF, and Master Nightmare Hunt pinnacles all seemed more balanced in their drops, though I got a ton of duplicates from all of them too. Same with the pinnacles from Iron Banner, where you make a lot of progress but need to wait four to five weeks. The Garden RAID obviously also helps, but seeing as I have yet to complete it, I can’t speak to its drops.

Getting pinnacles in the same 3 slots across characters for an age made me stop caring. It's just gonna get reset anyway. The whole power system itself needs a reset.

2 RepliesIf you are so worried about light level then maybe you should do your plus 2 pinnacles instead of crying to bungie about your RNG luck. Since you do not do the GOS (4-5 plus 2 drops), Master Nightmare Hunt, Prophecy (armor plus 2 drop), POH (master worked armor plus 2 drop) or the 100k NF you have zero reason to complain. You do not do end game content. You wanna be max level to do patrols, normal strikes? You are the one limiting your RNG by skipping 9 plus two drops per week per character. This is 100 percent a you problem.

Ironic as I have all hunter slots 1060 except cloak at 1059. Week after week after week I open more 1060 energy weapons. 25+ Running 3 characters. 3 weapon slots and 5 armors slots A weapon should randomly drop 38% of the time. Reality is about 63% of the time Of the weapon drops 46% are energy and heavy is lowest It isn’t random. It is weighted random and I suspect weighted even more against the last armor drop

Bungie uses a grind model for their game that has, at its core, mechanics to make you play longer. You're a grinder. The system knows this. It's going to keep giving you what you dont want because it knows you'll grind more to get it.
