Dungeons/Raids exclude Solo players.

Bungie really need to push for a more helpful system where players who haven't got mics or don't have friends but are nervous at playing with random people can actually go n do raids or dungeons etc. Just seems like the end game content is only for people who play together or people who are comfortable with teaming up with randoms.

  • LFG. Its not hard. Xbox has its own version, multiple discord servers exist. Yeah, it should be in the game, but its not and I don't think its coming any time soon.

  • Bungie wants you to bring your friends into the game so that they'll spend $$$$. This isnt a solo game.

    • I want to play football but I don't like playing with other people and get a bit nervous about it. I'm going to go to fifa and complain that their game doesn't support solo players. See how stupid that sounds?

      • Dungeons can be done with no mics, but not raids. If the activity was simply "point a to point b and kill everything in between" that would be different, but there is a lot of communication needed between players. I know this is going to sound harsh, but get over your anxiety. Believe it or not, there are a lot of helpful raiders out there that don't care about your insecurities and will help. Just make sure you watch videos and read guides so that you're not a burden to the team trying to help you.

        The entire point of having challenging endgame content is to push you out of your comfort zone and bring players together to overcome challenges. That's how you build a community. Take a few minutes to study some raid guides, go into LFG and tell people you know the mechanics. Or make your own group/join a clan. There are people out there who will join you. You can do it.

      • I suggested before that we add a raid tier below the current difficulty with simplified mechanics allowing for matchmaking.

        • Dungeons are the road into soloing endgame content, raids are meant for multiple people. I’d argue maybe there should be a raid with mechanics that don’t require multiple people, whereas someone with commendable light and skills can do the whole thing by themselves with great difficulty. However, this is arguably what dungeons are for.

        • Raids have mechanics requiring a team they are designed around teams. I don't do them either as I am a solo player which I am fine with Dungeons can be soloed there are even triumphs around it they are merely easier with a fireteam. I had a massive break and only just started venturing into dungeons but I like to go In blind so just starting with the pit of heresy atm. First run in necropolis I was lost didn't know where to go or what to do but had a few pointers provided to help me. I see dungeons as the endgame for soloists and I feel they were introduced to give solo players a raid lite experience was refreshing to see.

          • I as an extreme hermit with anti-social anxieties do it with random people. Mostly the experiences have been positive, aside from a few jerks out there. Worst case scenario is you can just leave. Best case is you get the completion and the knowledge and experience to understand things better.

          • Raids are always inherently going to be activities that aren’t exactly “solo friendly”. Gotta communicate and all that. There’s literally no communication required for the dungeons though. You can easily just hop into and LFG without a peep and get them done.

            Dungeon can be made solo or in group without a mic. Exemple with prophecy. Use an emote to say You've got motes (light/dark) and before launching the activity look with your team Wich emote you're gonna use to say which ones you've got. You pretty much only need that. As for the anxiety towards playing with other player, that's mostly a "you" problem you'll have to figure out. We can't help much with that sadly. I'll still suggest joining a clan or player you're comfortable playing with to help fight against that and getting a little bit step by step out of the comfort zone towards another kind of zone. Anyways you understand I assume.

          • Ok, I'm generally a solo player but. Raids require 6 people. There is no ifs or buts... It REQUIRES 6, as its built for that. Now you say they should add something to help solo players find raids eh. They did. They added a raid matchmaking system where people would vaultenteer to help solo people. Secondly its a lovely thing called LFG. Dungeons are required as a team of 3 but are harder and more mechanic based than your average activity. There is no matchmaking for this... But there is that lovely LFG. Start using it. That's all you need to hear.

            Dungeons can be played with randoms without mic, if you know the mechanics at least a little. Raids on the other hand you're correct, they should change them and make them more easy for random people to get together and complete them.

          • Your in a decent sized clan try teaming up with some of those guys or try Xbox's LFG 9/10 of my experiences there have been good ones.

              A long time request. There should be matchmaking for everything as long as it doesn't effect the current behavior. Although I think it would generally be a failure for higher level activities, it would at least give some an opportunity they don't have now. It shouldn't be very time consuming or complicated to implement since it already exists. And if you don't like it, you don't have to use it and things work just as they do now. The only people that I have seen that are against this are the elitists that like to tell others what they should do. I've been playing Division 2 and it has a far better matchmaking system. Matchmaking for everything which can be turned on or off at the beginning or during a mission. You can turn on matchmaking at the beginning of a mission, if there's an open spot on an existing fire team, you'll be asked if you want to join. If you continue solo, players will join you as you progress. Or If you start a mission solo without matchmaking and it's too tough, then enable matchmaking. Players will then join you. If you only want one person to join, then stop matchmaking after they join. I can't say if raids have matchmaking since I haven't done one but I assume they do.

                Dungeons maybe. It might be a total shitshow but you would have a chance at completing it. Raids? Nope. Bad enough with randoms in LFG, but at least those are people who are serious enough to take the time to find a group. I don’t want to take my chances with people just pushing the “play” button on a raid for a lark. But hey... I wouldn’t have to use it, so as long as those players recorded the results so the rest of us could get a good laugh, why not.

              • Not all content is for solo players, just like not all content is for pve players and not all content is for pvp players. Sadly (or not) this is true for every multiplayer game, however I wouldn't be against bungie implementing matchmaking for end game activities or adding some sort of solo player end game activities.
