Please don’t sunset the Hush bow next season. It’s never even been close to considered overpowered, rewards high skill play and selfishly is one of my favorite weapons in the game. Understand the precedent isn’t great by allowing a pinnacle to remain but conversely doesn’t completely invalidate efforts made by guardians to achieve some of these weapons. Throwaway post maybe, but feel better having made the “ask”.
Cheers!

3 RepliesHush, Breakneck, Broadsword, Oxygen, all going away before they had a chance to shine.

1 ReplyHush is a damn good bow. It will be missed but I'm sure there will be a new bow to replace it in your loving heart. (Tucks you in, and kisses your forehead, and turns on the fan)
-
Hush is a trash bow, would’ve been amazing if it activated its perk on any precision hit. On pc the bow is not bad but its not all that great either, ill still choose a sniper over a bow any day.
-
It should be sunset all with all things. The water gets murky when we start deciding what can and can’t be sunset and what will it won’t be good in the future.
-
Totally agree. Super fun to use when you get better at it, and because it's punishing it's not broken. Really hope they make another gun like it if they do sunset hush.
-
1 ReplyThey already reissued weapons this season, it's coming back, you'll just have to re-earn it or have it drop.

Bungo makes a Video Game, it comes out as a Magic Card game! Bungie Logic!
-
sorry bro, sunsetting sucks
-
Sadly, power creep is only a guise used to make fewer weapons and funnel us in to the metas they want us to have. Pinnacles helped them create their lie, and sadly, the more niche pinnacles are unfortunate victims. They were never meta, but will never be re-issued like normal weapons could potentially be

And oxygen

4 RepliesHush and that scout rifle were never even used to begin with. But you know who gives a flying ef ?
not bungo lul
4 RepliesEdited by TimeSplitter510: 8/23/2020 3:42:40 PMThe Sunsetting schedule should have been a lot slower There are so many guns that I have earned and want to spend more time with that are now being squashed. . .. :-(

6 RepliesThings aren't getting sunset solely because they are powerful. Just to push things along I guess and I will defend sunsetting ONLY if reissues don't happen again. If they do, I'm going for the pitchfork.
-
Not really "high skill play". I hip fire crits all the time with every other bow in the game. It's not OP, but it IS a really good, underrated pinnacle. I literally slept on it until this season, and I hate to see it go too.

Sunsetting isnt about overpowered gear, its about ease of recycling and "new" loot Need "new" loot to complement the (puddle deep) season/DLC loot pool? Copy, paste and change a few seasonal overlays on icons, there ya go, new loot for you to farm. Need to make the "new" and the actual new loot appealing to farm? Creativity? Nah! just slap a expiration date on the older one, job done, half the work. The fact that slowly axes gear that bungie regrets making is just the cherry on top, plus its just a matter of time till they sell ya a copy or a watered down version of theme/some of them as an exotic. :P

remember nechrochasm in d1? yep buffed a few months before d2 came out. Just like oxygen as well for example. never got a chance to shine.

11 RepliesEdited by Swiftlock: 8/23/2020 7:48:38 AMSeems like a non-issue. You can still use Hush just fine in Quickplay. It's not like you'll be going super hard with Hush in endgame modes where light level matters.

4 RepliesNever even thought it was worth getting

Pretty much all pinnacles are getting sunset sadly.

8 RepliesI made a post somewhat related to this a few days ago as it brought up a pinnacle weapon and asked for clarification on a post they made. If you don't mind reading a wall of text, I ask you read the copy/paste below and what's further below that as it wasn't in that post.
I don't have the link, someone probably remembers what I'm talking about, but part of that post made by Bungie tried to defend sunsetting by saying something like it would (could? I can't remember) help them make weapons "as strong as Recluse". Strength isn't exactly a good word to use in regards to Destiny for various reasons. Two perfect examples being LL limits and Tarrabah. Correct me if I'm wrong, but LL stops making a difference above the enemy after a certain point in PVE and PVP. In regards to Tarrabah, it is for all intents and purposes the strongest primary in the game, but it's so demanding to say the least that it's still not really worth using over something like Recluse or Riskrunner (especially if you have a way to keep the buff active even against enemies that don't use Arc damage). They kind of already did make weapons stronger, or more viable than Recluse (not counting exotics like Tommy's if you can deal with the self damage), but that's with certain rolls. Ignoring the range and stability/accuracy differences, I just got a god roll Gnawing Hunger, I can't remember the barrel, but it's got Accurized Rounds, Range MW, Zen Moment, and I can choose Kill Clip or Multikill Clip. Also got a good roll for the Ikelos SMG, can't remember the barrel, but Steady Rounds, Threat Detector, Stability MW, and I can choose Tap the Trigger or Surrounded. That's two weapons that are significantly better (or at least easier to use) in PVP and both can be better in PVE than what was THE pinnacle weapon after the nerf/rework to Luna/NF. The "strength" of Recluse is undeniable if you can consistently land your crits when it's buffed, but not only will you be injured most of the time, but if you can't hit the head, you're better off with any other weapon. If it was so strong, why is it only the 45th most used in general competitive PVP and 35th in QP last I saw (Ikelos gets more use in QP)? It's 6th in PVE, it's fine there, that's it. There are a few interpretations to that post, and the most logical ones are the pinnacle weapons would be reprised, or their perks wouldn't be exclusive to them eventually. I would welcome one, the other would be a potential nightmare (imagine Desperado on whatever the next great weapon will be, like a repised Claws of the Wolf).
Personally, I think pinnacle and ritual weapons should be exempt from sunsetting for several reasons. They won't exactly be "pinnacle weapons" if they get capped, at least one (Oxygen SR1) was never even decent in the first place, several got neutered in some way (Breakneck, Redrix, Luna/NF, Recluse,), and the long grind for several of them. They've already made weapons that are potentially better or may as well be pinnacle weapons themselves by default (Summoner and Astral, now wait for the adept versions). If they really do intend to make weapons like this, it would make more sense to reprise the weapons or put their exclusive perk(s) in the perk pool (in cases like Onslaught and Rampage or Outlaw and Desperado, combine them into one perk). It might make more sense than the last two to reprise the weapons, combine certain perks, and make all the others random, like getting Hip Fire Grip instead of Opening Shot on Hush. Maybe get Quickdraw instead of Feeding Frenzy on Recluse.

Legit forgot about this weapon. Fitting name I guess.

If mountaintop gets sunset, that goes too. No exceptions

Absolutely no reason for it to sun set either but, as Devrim Kay likes to say, “here we are.”

No. No exceptions.
