1. Half of the shaders don’t even go with how they are supposed to look.
2. There isn’t a fully black shader
3. There should be a way to equip one shader on all pieces of gear.

1 ReplyIf there was a black shader, all guardians would be completely black lol

Edited by Ghostfire239: 8/21/2020 7:00:20 PMThe need to scrap the shader concept entirely and just have a colouring system similar to Warframes. Let players choose their primary, secondary, tertiary, and lights colours. Make so that one handles metal, one handles cloth, and one handles leather. I would love to have a black and purple colour scheme but unfortunately melchezdek bramble (or however you spell it), adds this weird brown to leathers, and bright purple to cloth. It’s annoyinh, and ruins almost every look I try to go for.

They need to make an emblem that tracks how many shaders I have deleted!
-
Check out this shader called Jacarina it's my new favorite shader and it's a nice black and light blue with some white.
-
6 RepliesI still don’t understand why Jacarina has f*cking blue in it
-
I previewed the Jacarina shader on my hunter with the legendary solstice set. 60% blue??? Where does the blue come from? I don’t get it.
-
3 RepliesHey, have you tried Jacarina shader yet?

Edited by AltYami: 8/20/2020 1:52:52 PMD1 shaders are way better. I barely use D2 shaders. No ‘apply to all’ button is a dealbreaker for me. It’s pathetic they haven’t implemented it in all of these years, but they take time to make changes & nerfs no one asks for.

Most shaders suck. The new Crucible shader is awesome though.

1 ReplyEdited by Soundwave: 8/19/2020 7:56:08 PMYou're only scratching the surface of improving the shader system. All changes you listed plus: -Removal of Shader Inventory - All shaders applicable from the appearance tab. A search bar is to be added OR Shader Favorties to make it easy to apply shaders. -Wear and Tear Slider - Most Shaders appear beat up when applied to a Ship for example. I want a fresh coat of paint on everything. No excuse for there to be scratches on anything since a Ghost could Transmat a fresh version. -Rotating Shaders/Custom Shaders - Allow for a Shader to be turned 90 degrees to allow certain colors to land in different areas. And allow us to make custom shaders from the massive pool of colors that the shaders are made of. So say I like the gold from Precursor Vex Chrome, The White from Calus Selected, The Black from Jacarina, and the Brown from some other shader. I can take those 4 and combine them in any order I want. -Uncolorable Areas NEED to be Fixed - Not sure what I mean? Check out the new Solstice Warlock robes. Apply a shader and look at the dangly bits. Gold is completely untouched by shaders. This issue plagues almost every set in the game and needs to be looked at. There are even more changes I'd list but can't remember them off the top of my head. Actually let me repost my old "Perfecting the Shader System" forum post I made. Saved it to my google drive since I like to repost to remind Bungie.

1 ReplyObsidian shader plz
-
I love em.

Shaders are definitely pretty lackluster overall in D2. Well, it's not the shaders so much as it is their implementation.
-
Shader are in fact, literal garbage in this game. All the D1 system needed was the ability to apply Shaders to individual gear items, and the Collections tab to act as the Shader inventory as opposed to the very limited character space D1 has. Any other improvements from there would have just been icing.
-
agree that the vast majority of shaders are literally trash items meant to dilute our loot pool
-
What you don't like black and red?
-
Edited by Kouz_MC: 8/20/2020 11:02:20 AMYep! Can’t believe this is a sequel to D1. More like a retrograde edition. Most gear also look horrible, and too many recycles.
-
Big shader
-
I would also like a better system for trashing shaders you dont want - one at a time from your inventory is useless and if you go to Rahool he will only let you trash about 60 or so before that option is taken away from you and not all of your shaders appear in his menu when you go to him, then it's back to one at a time.
-
6 RepliesThis will sound crazy but anthem got this down pretty well imo
-
Something I did miss about D1. You had one shader that covered all your gear....evenly!
-
1 ReplyAgreed, or all white shader like the one you own by completing atheon Raid on D1... All the New shaders are ugly as hell, and don't let me talk about the Iron Banner shaders. 😒
-
Not only are shaders stupid, this outdated game doesn't even let you equip a whole set at a time. LOL. Yeah, AAA title boys.
-
Neopop Wave is pretty good. Still wish we could get a decent high collar robe like Purifier from D1 for Warlock.

Shaders have such potential but they’re treated like crap. Some are unattainable after certain seasons (R.I.P gambit steel) and many are relegated to dumb Eververse rotations making the cool ones locked behind RNG cycles. Duplicate shaders run rampant in engrams, and don’t even get me STARTED on hidden/unshown colors. (Jacarina)
