Usually live service games don't take away stuff and only ADD stuff while leaving the old stuff in.
Since Luke Smith likes to gloat about his WoW days so much, let's take that as an example: when have there been entire big destinations or core contents like raids just outright removed with the vague promise of "Oh it will come back in rotation". If a raid was being removed from WoW, people would flip sh!t, but if bungo does it, the shills and apologists come and defend their every move.
And don't go "BuT iT's TaKiNg Up ToO mUcH sToRaGe AnD tHe GaMe WoUlD bEcOmE buGgY (as if the game wasn't already buggy enough as is)". If bungos engine or netcode can't handle that much data then it's just bad since other games are bigger both in scope and data and are less buggy (for example CoD MW).
Honestly, since the split from Activision the game has only become worse, sure, there were occasional high points like forsaken and GoS, but in total, it has become worse and EVEN MORE ANTI CONSUMER. The new season model is dog sh!t. We barely get any story and the big fall dlc Shadowkeep WAS A F#CKING PROLOGUE TO WHAT'S COMING A YEAR LATER. Eververse hasn't changed at all. If Activision was taking a cut of Eververse's sales (idk if they did, just speculating) it sure doesn't show since the prices have stayed the same. And don't even talk about free to play since the only New Light players I ever see are cheating in PvP and have brand new steam accounts.
It pains me to say, but it almost seems like out of the two, Activision wasn't the greedier one.
