Cant we just wish for Riven to bring back Cayde?

YES! I miss him a lot and was pretty much the only thing that made this game worth playing.

Riven is like a mythical genie, where you would wish to receive a million dollars/pounds and you would get it but probably as a result of a 1 million dollar life insurance policy where the genie makes a relative die immediately in a car crash

Wishing for Cayde to come back would do more harm, than good. Both to the story itself (making forsaken pretty much meaningless), and to the lore/universe.

In fact, the Wish Wall that we see in the raid was a contraption invented by Mara Sov and her Techeuns that made it safer for Mara to make wishes. They invented a language (the symbols and patterns) that made it almost impossible for Riven to misinterpret the wishes. As an example, she was the architect of the Dreaming City but she still left subtle flaws between the cracks in its creation that would allow invaders eventually. Likewise, Eris survived the Hellmouth with the help of an Ahamkara bone shard, but....well, look at her. If we made such a simple wish as "Return Cayde to us," or even added the stipulation that he's returned to us as he was, she could do something as malicious as keeping him stuck in a loop of death in the prison, or worse. If Mara Sov and the Techeuns had trouble with controlling Riven's game of words, we would stand no chance.

As much as I’d love to turn this story into another Dragon Ball Z. We can’t be having that, if death isn’t permanent, then our actions hold no weight and the consequences will be bare minimum. Also that’s such a cheap way to gain an advantage over an enemy “yo Riven I wish to be literally God” and then I snap my fingers and the entire Pyramid fleet just Thanoses out of existence.....yeah let’s keep that OUT of the game please 😅
