There should be no reason a grenade should suppresses faster than a super.

Idk why people can still kill you in their super while they are tethered. It takes waaaaay too long to activate for no reason when a grenade does it instantly. Here’s an example clip, the tether is place by another in a doorway, yet a striker can shoulder charge almost three full times when exposed to the AOE of the tether before suppression: https://gamerdvr.com/gamer/xxlukiedukiexx/video/107188750

    • I’ve been a hunter main since the beginning and as soon as shadowshot came out it was my jam. 100%. I love it. It’s a freakin’ meme, though. Even from someone that loves it dearly: it blows. The activation is so slow it becomes useless. Same with the pre-fire animation.

          • And supressor grenade makes it so you can not use abilities for 10 seconds. Tether doesnt add a debuff after you leave its radius...which should be changed to debuff people for at least 20 seconds.

          • It was bad placement. Inside a door frame will limit it's area of effect. Shooting the bad guy directly or in an open area of expected avenue of approach is your best option, or that would be other player's best option.

          • Let's be honest. If you run top tree nightstalker, you do it for the invis advantage, especially paired with high mobility or a complementary exotic. It's a cheesy way to play imo (especially with crouching ranged weapons) but people can do what they want. With such a strong neutral game in pvp the super should be weaker to balance it out. I've seen it used effectively in many games, paired with tons of dodging+invis crouching. Put me in the camp of overall fine as it's.

            • And what’s wild is that after you’re tethered by shadowshot? No lingering effect like a suppression nade! The nade can take you out of super, lock you out of jumping, and take away your melee and grenade, for a solid 10-15 seconds. What’s the point of using such a bad super in PVP?

              • Remove the debuff from tether and it can activate as quickly as that grenade or quicker if you want.

                  • xXlukiedukieXx you make some valid points and I agree that ever verse should be removed from this game. But Whether we wanted it or not, we’ve stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let’s get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta’aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

                    Because the tether would look stupid animation wise then. Right now you have several animation frames going on. The impact, then where the small node implodes and after that the "arms" reaching out to targets to tether them and only THEN the actual surpression happen. Skipping all that would make the super look like a weird glitch or so. Or as if it was animated by an amateur. It's a super, has a wider range, has some sort of tracking and can surpress a lot of targets nearby. So you somehow have to balance it out. A nade has a short duration, small radius and animation wise there is just the nade and an impact because a nade is not a super so therefore not meant to look awesome. Not to mention Tether Nightstalker was meant as a PvE support super as requested by the fans since D1 (where Hunters were basically useless till TKK in endgame content), not a PvP class.

                    • Thundercrash can fly right thru a tether. They'll get anchored but not surpressed. The only thing that happens is their blue glow goes away but they can continue the super.

                    • Bottom tree tether is the instant kill. Top tree tether is the trap tether, hence the delay.

                      • Waa? You can still shoot in a tether and while suppressed so not sure what youre talkin about. Obviously this just happened and you wrote this out of anger or ignorance

                        • As a Hunter I disagree. Top tree Tether is supposed to be used as a trap (hence "Way of the Trapper") and bottom tree is moreso for single-target DPS, specifically bosses (which also clears adds in the process) or for eliminating approaching Guardians that have Heavy/Special. I've got countless squad-wipes in Gambit using bottom tree, so I know it works as a OHK. Tether is great if you lead enemies. It takes some skill (jk lol it's really easy) to knock an enemy out of their super with Tether. If you aren't good at it, use something else and stop complaining about it.

                                • Tether had got to be one of the most useless supers. Between the air hover, of center aim, animation time, activation delay, and nerfs, I literally die 9 times out of 10. Sometimes I get a trade but usually I just take one for the team to shut down a super. Titans get a grenade and melee that are more reliable than a super, and a class ability that negates it. Frankly, it's a meme at this point.

                                    My favorite part is when suppression nades suppress you even when you are wayyy about of its area of effect. Like excuse me? What? I can literally see the entire explosion in front of my eyes and where it ends. How the frig am i suppressed? Can't lie tho, same thing happens with tether too. You can literslly see the perimeter of the suppression field on the ground and it still hits you when you are outside of it. Even more frustrating with the suppression names and tether can get you through a wall or around corners.

                                        Tether has been silently & seriously nerfed over the last 2 years (especially when they destroyed Orpheus Rigs & orb creation) - Tether should insta trap the opponent & definitely not let them back up/jump out like it’s a bloomin dollop of UHU Nor should it be so glaringly advertised in PvP the only hope is the new Sta.sis class on Hunter That looks like Tether 2.0 with the walls/freeze capability (obviously if it reacts far quicker that the super slow tether) Will be brilliant if invisibility is a choice too!
