So seeing as Ikora hasn't really been an essential part of the story can we have her die please?
Cayde was a great character part of multiple DLC's going back to D1 and he was a comedic sort of guy that made the game fun, now he's dead.

Cayde was the worst character. Glad he died like a chump. 😎

6 RepliesThe difference is people would have died for Cayde. Can we really say the same for the Warlock Vanguard?? Also, she is a HUGE part of the narrative going forward. She’s basically the new Toland. She is now seeing how weak the Vanguard is and how frail and useless they are now. She sees the good the Darkness can do for us. She’s questioning the status quo.

5 RepliesNot gonna like Cayde's character was on a downward spiral, I'm glad they finished him when they did He went from emotionless nobody in D1 Vanilla Then a witty and lovable rogue in taken King Then a wise cracking funny guy deadpool esc character in D2 So honestly if they kept him around any longer he was bound to get obnoxious, so I'm glad his story finished before it was tainted

Nah. I want a character to die after they actually do something. Ikora might play a big part in beyond light. I believe her and Zavala will die in Lightfall and Eris in the Witch Queen.

So seeing as Ikora hasn't really been an essential part of the story can we have her die please? Cayde was a great character part of multiple DLC's going back to D1 and he was a comedic sort of guy that made the game fun, now he's dead.
Honestly, she'd provided one of the bigger roles since Forsaken. She rallied with us and many other Vendors in "vengeance" opposing the likes and mindsets of Zavala and Asher who kept cooler heads during the events. The fact she did so has brought about that idea of disbanding the Vanguard and her character could lead to some seriously interesting plot points in the future. Her involvement with not just the Vanguard, but the Hidden, Consensus and the Guardians are very important positions to hold onto with most of those falling apart, especially the Consensus and Vanguard which very much depend on each other. That's also not to even begining to mention how her being alive has brought about character development (yes, she does develop in game, which get's more expansion in the lore). The Red War causes her to gain a whole new perspective on life that she never would've gained if not for the Red War, realising how she isn't truly immortal and can die. The reemergence and re-connection to Osiris and Sagira has meant that two of her oldest mentor/friends are back in her corner. Even her relationship to her Ghost, who she hadn't spoken to for....between 40-60 yrs, has been improved as she now actively speaks to Ophiuchus. But with the Death of Cayde-6 she slumps. Cayde's death is a pivotal moment in the story of all Destiny. Him dying is the catalyst for events unprecedented and unforeseen, that nearly every big event that took place that year was brought about by his death. Including how Ikora handles it. The scene where we watch Ikora, Zavala and ourselves mourn over Cayde while his body is under that sheet, is arguably one of the best scenes in Destiny, next to Eris' snap at the Phantasms during the Luna Incident, Uldren's final moments at the end of the Forsaken campaign and the Vangaurd meeting regarding the Dreadnaught back during the Taken War. The emotion Ikora displays, her denial of wanting to be a coward. What she says to us and Zavala:
This is not your fault. This… is on the head of Uldren Sov. But if he thinks what he's done is the end, it's not. Its the beginning. We're going to fight him Do you hear me? All of us. Every Titan. Every Warlock. Every Hunter. We will take the Reef by storm! And then we will mount the head of that son of a b*tch on his precious throne. For our fireteam… For Cayde.
She adamantly denies Zavala, straight up calling him a coward. Which at the time, many people would've stood with. Some, including Ikora herself, look back on it now and realise that ultimately Zavala was in the right, and that Vengeance was not the way to go, or at least not the right motive to pursue Uldren and the Barons. But it's that realisation that shows how we've all grown. If Bungie go the way they look to be going, Ikora will likely play a big role in the coming Seasons. Especially if Bungie decide to make Uldren the next Hunter Vanguard (plz don't) and possibly bring back Praydeth, both of which could bring very interesting courses of action for the game in the future. A final note. The reason Cayde was killed and not Ikora? People prefer Cayde over Ikora. Ikora's death wouldn't have resonated much with the players. But Cayde's death? yeah, they got a reason to want to play. I still say that Last Call is one of the best missions in the game. It was the best way to send Cayde off. They couldn't have done that with Ikora. She's not a character people like as fondly. I hope this helps in someway. But as a closing note; Cayde is dead, let him rest.

1 ReplyHe was a clown. Not my sense of humor. Drifter is better at being funny, even Failsafe. But yes, get rid of Ikora and give us Osiris as Warlock Vanguard. Or better: resurrect -blam!-ing Felwinter. The Darkness arrived, we're in need of a badass.

Ouch.

Think Ikona is just ashamed of everything that happened w Old Silas.

1 ReplyEdited by Riven’s No.1 Cookie Baker: 8/15/2020 11:17:20 PMBecause Cayde’s voice actor quit and so they had to kill him off Ikora’s voice actor is still around

Voice actor got a acting job and couldn’t do destiny anymore...that’s why

1 Replycuz she’s black

1 ReplyCayde was reckless and got himself killed. He almost got us killed trying to board the dreadnaught.
-
Because this is a teen rated game, and robots aren't people.
-
2 RepliesYou misspelled zavala. The last thing he did was put a bubble in the only spot being bombarded in the tower.
-
1 ReplyThey killed Caydes character back when D2 was launched. Might as well canonically kill him off too
-
3 RepliesThat's a bit morbid mate, and probably racist. Haha

3 RepliesWhat about zavala instead
