How Bungie and EA are related. This is a long one

I’m a Destiny 1 year 1 veteran, I remember when roaming knights spawned in the cosmodrome and people would rather shoot into a cave than play the game. I’ve seen the ups and downs, I’ve seen the “We promise we’ve changed” DLC’s like Taken King and then Forsaken. I’ve seen the “We are listening” posts and the other generic responses. What’s my point? I was a regular member of the now defunct and deleted official Star Wars Battlefront 2 Forum. EA did the SAME EXACT THING for years. They took in suggestions, they gave people a place to try to communicate, then failed majorly to actually communicate. They made magnificent coding errors that have left multiple characters like Vader with invincibility glitches to this day, and have no plan of fixing them. They too used the excuse their engine or a lack of resources were to blame as to why a regular schedule was never kept and as to why their were so many bugs and a lack of content. They would literally ignore players voluntarily writing comprehensive bug reports detailing exact coding numbers and causes to said bugs, then ignore them all while saying thanks. They would drip feed basic content like mainline characters for months at a time and expect a celebration for even adding basics like new weapons years into the game’s existence. Any actual honest attempt at critique or conversation was flat out ignored where employees wouldn’t interact for weeks at a time. In more ways than one, Bungie is no different. I would not be surprised in the least if this game follows a similar path as finances change and as time goes on including the future of this forum. My question is, even if history doesn’t repeat itself is this the kind of new norm we want long term service games to flourish in? Eververse money hasn’t stopped flowing since Taken King, and that was supposed to help fund more content yet here we are now pre ordering DLC at exorbitant prices... Is this the kind of product we want for this high cost? The game doesn’t respect you or your time, sun setting gear along with throttling XP and random rewards deciding your power level leading to a full time job grind to be able to play end game content. Grinding weeks just to get one point of gear. A lack of industry standards when it comes to dedicated PVP servers, we would rather argue CBMM or SBMM instead of standing together and demanding actual servers. Years of reset buttons with each new DLC, years of promising things are different. We are the only ones who can vote with our wallet to create change!
