I admit it, I have been through a few. The one good fit for me, 54, casual, rubbish lol..stopped playing..
But since then I have had clans that have imploded due to racist remarks, homophobic remarks, admins who are actually banned from playing and joining various discord’s I have just been overwhelmed with conversations about how much people drink, how stoned they are or their sexual fantasies..
I’ll admit it’s off-putting. I would just like a normal..ish, mature UK clan (PS4) to have a crack at some stuff with...
Anyone else find that getting a decent clans a bit tricky?
And I should add that I have no doubt there are some great people in the clans I have been in..it just wasn’t for me.

1 ReplyReason why its so hard to find a clan is because theirs so many clan leaders that don't know how to be leaders and too many of them are made for everyone. Which when you make a clan for everyone you make it for no one.

Edited by jackal-MW13: 8/12/2020 3:14:34 PMSearch the100.io and it should help you use the parameters you listed to find a group you vibe with. To answer your second question. No, I haven't had trouble finding a clan. Been with the same one since 2014. Good luck.

1 ReplyI had similar experience, it is really hard to find ’normal’ people who don’t hate speech, harrash and talk like they are the center of the world etc. Which is why I use LFG always with NO MIC. It was better when I had real life friends playing, but they left long time ago. Luckily my current clan has normal people in it, but most of the clan is not playing anymore.

3 RepliesFrom what I heard, one of my friends straight up quit D2 because someone in our clan called someone a Racial slur pertaining to the African American denomnination. It's really sad, because he was a good guy, and I will miss him.

1 ReplyI’ve been part of many different clans over the years and I have to say the clan I’m in now is fantastic. They’re great players and great people. Keep searching and you’ll find a perfect fit.

2 RepliesClans are too easy to start, join and leave People skip a about clans chasing greener pastures and in time never find a place to land and end up crying on the boards - generally, not so much yourself I’ve seen people come and go in the clan I’m in, literally over a hundred. A large part of it comes down to content droughts and weak clan bonds that can’t last in dry times, the rest is a lack of conviction. Clans can be a great resource when you have active likeminded members knee deep in content that’s fun to engage, but when power levels tend to exclude the lesser light players and to get to the cap can feel a lot like a second job when engaged too causally People feel weak in game and simply do something else - which is right now probably Ghost of Tsushima or Fall Guys But it’s a familiar issue as at 1080, there’s moments that even I don’t even feel particularly powerful, engaging a 750 activity and being fragged by a random elite like all that leveling was for nothing Though issues with power fantasy and so on are another issue altogether imo

6 RepliesI'm loyal to my OG D1 clan... the problem is that the direction this game is going is clashing heavily amongst the ranks. My once solid clan from D1 of 12 members is now a clan of 60+ people, most i haven't even played with but why? Most of my clan are uninterested in Destiny 2 now, the clan founder along with 2 former co-founders have uninstalled the game. Nobody plays, I mean a few do but the solid clan is no more. 90% are playing other games and have no interest in Beyond Light or any upcoming DLC content. Its difficult to find an active clan that doesn't have requirements to stay in that clan. A buddy of mine is in a clan that kicks inactive players. If you dont log on for 3 days without a valid reason you get kicked from the clan.... this is ridiculous! If you can't find a good clan you could always become a founder and create one.

2 RepliesWe're average 30-40, and finding people that aren't decent is hard. We're yanks though. Most of us met through softball first, which is even weirder really.

2 RepliesI just don't do clans any more. You get less done with them and its easier to ignore someone toxic that you have played with because your not in a clan with them. Also I really hate discords and clans who organise activities only ever to all no show. I have kids and time is limited so don't let me down because your not on time.

1 ReplyNever liked on relying on clans to do stuff in this game that’s why I just do everything with lfg. I don’t wanna do raids when I don’t wanna do I wanna do stuff when I want to do. Clans usually are very toxic about this. If you don’t join to their raid run they take it personal and can go super toxic. I don’t have time for that drama. I do raids and dungeons whenever I want to do and not obliged to do runs for other people.

1 ReplyI never could do the big clan type of thing. It might get more shit done, but I don't do drama with my gaming.

1 ReplyEdited by MADG33k: 8/11/2020 12:52:22 AMHave you tried the100.io? They have a great clan finder that can help point you to a clan that plays on the system you want to play on at the times you usually play. They also can give you a heads up on what the clans tend to consist of (older adults/Parents/College age) and what they like to play (PVE/PVP/Raids/etc).

Yup, and for me, maturity is a deal breaker too. I'm 25 now, started playing Destiny at 18* Even when there's no racism, homophobic or douchbags in the clan i usually loose all interest in playing with them with the conversation is always the same about these kind of stuff. I find it sad that most of the clans i've been part of where: "Bunch of "adults" who are actually talking like teenagers" "Actually teenagers..." "Screamming children" - The best people i've played with had nothing in common but maturity and respect throught the others, which i think mostly lacks on clans today, Try using the "find fireteam" here on bungie.net, and of course avoid at all costs "khtd" and "must be....." teams. Most of people there are incredibly kind (or maybe im just lucky).

2 RepliesSo, I use to be part of a trifecta, right? These other two players mirrored my playability and paralleled my skill, we were the perfect three man fireteam. Since the D1 Demo Sepiks strike and the launch of D1 and D2, we took on all all endgame activity. Everything Youtubers and elitist bragged about, we three had ourselves, from Flawless trial victories to Raid Challenge completions, nothing wasn't to far to reach and obtain for us. Then, last year, one of them passed away, suddenly. Our trifecta had collapsed and we were broken. It wasn't the same again and slowly me and the remaining Guardian drifted apart. Now, I play Destiny 2 by myself, soloing NFs and Dungeons like the Pit, Crucible, Destiny has given and taketh away. My experiences as a Lone wolf has tempered and hardened me. Currently in a bored slump, playing other titles. Point is? Just do you and eventually you click with one player, stick with them and do it again, till you have your own group. Don't just try to interject yourself because you crave social nurturing, nothing wrong with that, but your results are mirror that interjection, as you say, various discussions from highs, sex and foods. Good luck Guardian.

I’m in one of the best clans I’ve ever been apart of. Everyone is very helpful, staff works with getting streamers promoted both internally and externally. We all get along, and the only thing they require is you to be a decent human being. (And don’t talk about politics in general chat) haha It’s an international clan so we have people on around the clock. Optional Raid sign ups, nf’s, trials, and everything in between.

26 RepliesThe "right" clan will be made up of actual friends. People you'd call "family".

1 ReplyI agree... I'm in UK on xbox and unless I play past 2-3AM in the morning there is barely any clan activity for me. Raids are a no go as I cannot commit 2 hours after 1AM in morning (too sleepy to focus). I try my best to play with east coast guys but that's it and sometimes at 4AM I quit just because I'm tired. Agree on rest of remarks thing, I have joined clans and my experience has been racist. Some clans were so bad and racist that I just stopped playing for a while due to the shock. Anyways good luck finding a clan.

Clans use to be pretty fun if you got involved. My clan has been together since d1 and its had a few ups and downs, booting members for being racist or just nasty to other members. But over the past year we have slowly came to a dead standstill. Nobody, out of hundreds want to play anymore. Not even for exotics. I even gave everyone a free pass to join other clans and a free pass to come back if the next DLC breathes life back into the game. But at this point, I don't see the next DLC doing anything for longtime fans except for extending the bad feelings for the game. Efforts and collecting all seem useless now. Only way it will be good is if every new game coming out is even worse. As for finding the right clan? You have to make friends. Clans without friends is just an extra engram each week.
-
I’m in a clan but I really just play the game, don’t have to deal with any of the crap, just play the game.
-
My clan is great and we have been together since d1 launched. All adults with jobs and In Uk and USA. We do mostly pve, but all pvp activities. It’s funny most people leave us because we aren’t hardcore enough in the sense that I don’t want to do last wish 150 times to show it off. We do it all, but hanging comes first. You can message me if you want to check it out man. We want people who just want to play and relax and have fun.
-
I’ve seen a lot of weird folks over the years; but my clan/main members are the same cool cats I’ve been running with since 2014. A lot have come and gone and I’m delighted to say the core group remains.

They are, at most, a,waste of time and effort. Either members are inactive, they run alone and never mix with other members. Are massively clique, or like my last one, talk nonsense all day then get on to play, go quiet and run with randoms. All this, "join us, we arent just a clan, we are a family", bs. Honestly.
