What was our character before becoming a Guardian?
Our Guardian is resurrected outside a wall gate which boarders the cosmodrone in Old Russia.
Now in some lore tabs ghosts forge the basic starting armour that most guardians have. But from the Zavala trailer and Uldren resurrection cutscene they keep the cloths they had when they died. The D1 Titan armour looks like a standard soldier, the hunter looks like a pilot and the warlock looks like an officer.
During the collapse humanity fled to the Exodus ships but a riot ensured at the cosmodrone and destroyed the fuel lines to the remaining ships creating 'the blast' location.
Just speculation but was our character among the riots? Did we help people to the gate? Did we open fire on civilians? Did we hold back the creatures from the Pyramids? Or did a random civi take a cheapshot and kill us?

3 RepliesMy guardian was working at McDonald’s sadly he got the darkness’s order wrong the darkness complained to his manager when that didn’t work the darkness’s blew up the McDonald’s causing him to be launched from somewhere in Ohio or something all the way to the cosmodrome

Giving us no origin point. That's why we can shift around our race/gender as a nameless "The Guardian", because it literally doesnt matter.

My headcanon varies slightly for each character as they’re a different race. For my human warlock he was a Russian security trooper attempting to direct traffic during an evacuation but was run over by a panicky driver. His Khvostov was left in the facility because it wasn’t needed. For my Exo he was killed defending the Cosmodrome. My Awoken was shot down and crashed into Old Russia while on a courier mission for a Paladin. [spoiler]Sorry, all out of salt.[/spoiler]

I think the answer is subjective and is up to the player to decide their own guardian’s backstory.

4 RepliesEvery guardian got resurrected from the same car. There are thousands of guardians. We were all carpooling somewhere. My guess is that every guardian was part of the same graduating class on their way to clown college, all crammed in the same car on their way to a show. Sadly, they never got to do the big entrance where tons of clowns emerge from the car.

Here’s all the possibilities, which are influenced by the race you chose (Human, Awoken, Exo): If you chose human, then there are 2 options: 1: We were colonists of the Exodus program, or possibly Cosmodrome staff. Or perhaps someone who happened to be driving on the highway. Whatever the case, someone who died during the Collapse. Considering that our body was on the highway and not within the Cosmodrome it’s extremely unlikely that we were of any importance. 2: This is the most likely case because there’s a huge time frame where it could have happened. We died after the Collapse, killed by the Fallen or other humans or Lightbearers during the Dark Ages or City Age. If you chose Exo, then we were most likely some Exos serving as security or operating under Rasputin’s orders to complete some task when the Exodus program launched at the beginning of the Collapse. Exos were not sent on the Exodus program, so we weren’t a colonist. We also could have been killed some time after the Collapse. If you chose Awoken, it’s guaranteed we died some time during the City Age. We were most likely one of the Awoken that disobeyed Mara and left the Reef (this happened some time between Six Fronts and the Ahamkara Hunt), and we were most likely killed by Fallen. This is extremely likely to be the case, but there is a small chance that something else happened. In this case, we could also be an Earthborn Awoken (one of the descendants of those that left Mara). Either way, we died at some point after Six Fronts and were most likely killed by Fallen.

My guess is that our character fled the horrors of the Cosmodrome only to die of either radiation, exposure or hunger/dehydration. As to the big Who? In the end it didn't matter. But I'm guessing security guard.
