Arbalest's aim assist feels way too high on controller. I've definitely hit crits that should've been clear misses way more than once in a single play session of IB.
Arbalest's aim assist feels way too high on controller. I've definitely hit crits that should've been clear misses way more than once in a single play session of IB.
I only find this to be the case while using double targeting mods on my armor and to be fair, any weapon with the appropriate mods does this. It's surely strong, but I really don't see Arbalest used very often. When I do, I just pull out a sniper and enjoy the free kills that follow when the user is trying to charge it. No tuning, in PvP, is required in my opinion. In PvE on the other hand this weapon needs some love.

Man that gun is weird. Shots you swear are on point land body shots, but others that you know are waaay off hit the head.

5 RepliesIt has 61 aim assist attributed to its strong magnetism at mid range roughly capped at 17 meters. And feels pretty inconsistent without enhanced linear fusion rifle mods which I never take off when using it It also receives an insane amount of flinch and is also why I never take of enhanced unflinching linear fusion rifle mods on my chest piece. Is arbalest strong: Yes absolutely Is it the strongest mid-long range option in the game: absolutely not A good sniper will beat any arbalest user 95% of the time do to the 533 charge time. You have to rely on the the opposing sniping player to miss or have bad reaction time/ shot placement. Arbalest really punishes those who try to straight line every engagement (especially if they’re trying to do so while in super) or try to remain airborne for most of the fight. The gun is decent on it’s own and lethal with the right spec but still balanced nonetheless.

2 RepliesEdited by Quiet_Bushi: 8/10/2020 9:26:02 AMEhy Eris. These days I went in the Crucible (which normally I avoid because PvP isn't exactly my thing) and I've noticed that Arbalest can be quite nasty. Defintely few times I've been hit in very weird situations with crazy headshots. However, it's a Special, it's an Exotic... I still can accept it. And to be honest, more then the Revoker, the Gnawing Hunger, the Mountaintop and the Arbalest, I was quite surprised by Side Arms in general. After being farmed by a guy with double Side Arms, I tried a Drang Baroque and well, I was shocked. The TTK is crazy plus they seem to have a range that definitely should not be normal for Side Arms...! Don't get me wrong: it was fun! But again, I find mysel surprised and disappointed of how poorly Bungie take care of their PvP.

2 RepliesSure, but buff it in PvE to compensate.

Before you go getting on It's case, have you Forgotten about Revoker? I mean at LEAST Arbys requires Some charge up time, a Blaming Revoker does NOT! and NO FLINCH EITHER

1 ReplyNeeds to be placed in the heavy slot just like queens breaker..

Im loving the arbalest right now, its the best solution to mountaintop. Of you hit me with a grenade launcher? Get one shotted anyway because flinch doesn’t do anything but help me land the shot. Im actually having a blast with arbalest, it can still get wrecked by snipers though so its not really as broken as people think. I do get my occasional bs body shot that somehow counts as a headshot but we are in a game where we have snipers landing headshots by taking fire, shotguns going as far as 9 meters on a game with an insane amount of mobility, and a stupid grenade launcher being used as a rocket using special ammo.

5 RepliesIt doesn't have as much aim assist as you think and it has a charge time. People that ask for charge time weapons to be nerfed are just trash plain and simple. All these instant gratification sniper rifles all over the place and you ask for a nerf to a weapon that has less range and a charge time. The potatoes on this forum never cease to amaze me.

3 Replies*Revoker slowly backs away then runs straight for the exit*
-
3 RepliesNo. Shotguns are still way more prevalent. Get lost & stop asking for nerfs everyday.
-
All these bad players will continue to defend a broken weapon . So don't expect any sympathy . They think a shotgun , which has clear counters in fusion rifles and sidearms is more problematic than a long range weapon whose natural counter ( scout rifles ) are in such a bad state and don't flinch them properly . It needs the sleeper treatment . Anyone who says otherwise is laughable .
-
Keep it how it is and put it in the heavy slot.
-
13 RepliesNo. Stop asking them to nerf everything. Nobody cares about your toxic PvP crying. Stop trying to ruin PvE.

3 RepliesMy Arbelest has been in my vault at 950 for the better part of a year. I haven't even seen any of my friends use it or hear about the talking about it. People used it to get Komodo but otherwise.... do you see people use it? I mean is it that heavily used in pvp that you have to complain about getting kills with it or get killed by it? I bet Revoker is a much bigger problem

2 RepliesEdited by PapaSubpar: 8/8/2020 7:53:38 PMYeah, you tested it and it feels too good... More like you just got mapped by it and now you came to the forums to cry NERF OR NOTHING!!!!

Edited by Erijian: 8/9/2020 8:28:42 AMI used to think the same but after using it I don't think so much anymore. It has a very forgiving hitbox, but a ~.5s charge time (a decent sniper will just quick scope you during this charge time) and it feels like it loses all it's aim assist/magnetism once you reach about ~24m locking it into mid-range engagements. In short it has obvious weaknesses alongside its strengths. Just mind your engagement distances and play around their charge time like you would against a regular Fusion Rifle user.

Well hit the delete button and shut up. Lol

arbalest on controller is pretty much aimbot. I used it when it first came out and was dropping entire teams like nothing.

Edited by dogbone867: 8/8/2020 7:00:17 PMIt may just be that linear fusions naturally have better aim assist and flinch then snipers for compensating for being heavys,or it could be the fov making flicking easier.I think it also may be that the way aim assist seems to work in this game is that it seems a little bit more forgiving if the player has lower zoom and the magnetism seems strong. This is just a theory but I’m comparing say if I shoot someone at 5 meters with a hand cannon, then it normally won’t register a chest as a head, but if I do the same at 30, it seems like it will give me a head if I shoot pecs up about 70% of the time. This might be why it feels like it takes more precision with a sniper than an arbalest at range, but that’s just an untested theory. The natural benefits I stated first probably make the aim assist seem a little crazy to you.

Something else that I just considered is that it could have a hidden perk such as Eye of the Storm. There are a number of exotics with hidden perks. In other words, it's working as intended. And I don't feel any different getting shot by Arbalest as I do Revoker or Beloved. No matter how many shots you land you're still likely to get killed.
-
Yeah it doesn’t flinch and the hithox is bigger than a fridge.
-
I absolutely agree. It is way too easy to use. Free headshots.
-
Do me favour -blam!- off

As someone who feels cheap running it since it dropped yeah it can use some tuning
